Over the course of a full season he wasnt as good as the media was saying he was. He had a few good stretches but overall he wasnt on KAT's level or even close. If he cant rebound it will be an issue....
Nobody is claiming that he was as good as KAT...who just had one of the greatest 2nd half of a rookie season of all time :snoop:

Melo being the #1 option is the #1 problem. But no one wants to admit that either. So, keep cooking
What are you even arguing at this point?

Anyone on here can tell you...I am not the biggest Melo fan myself.

Gasol is still a fine player considering the lack of bigs. Turner kind of sucks would agree, but he did have a nice year last year and is younger than Lee. But having Davis and Aminu on the cheap helps them big time.

Lee is a better fit for Knicks than Turner for the Blazers. Lee's played in at least 77 games in six out of his eight years in the NBA. Very durable. Pau can't rebound or play defense. Only play the center position at this point. Portland isn't winning shyt either.

Portland is young, cheap has assets and has roster flexibility. The Knicks have one asset. The problem with the Knicks has always been they overpay for production that can be had at a less expensive price....

Nobody said that with the exception of Knicks zealots, you idiot. Typical Trip rhetoric with his lame ass hyperbole.

They're still not title contenders unless another superstar falls in their lap, but they're in a better situation than the Knicks for sure. We agree on that second part.

When you dont have a superstar(Lillard is borderline) that's the way you manage your roster. Not trading an asset for Derrick Rose. But whatever...

an asset? jerian grant?.......lopez????? CALDERON??? WHAT ASSET GOING INTO THE FUTURE DID WE GIVE UP THAT WOULD DRASTICALLY ALTER THE TRAJECTORY OF THIS KNICKS TEAM
it was a low risk high reward trade...if it doesnt work out......you dont sign rose...and have instantly 20 million in cap...what is there so hard to understand?
there is no player u could trade those 3 for that would make the knicks title contenders in 2016...2009...2020

Yes I considered Lopez an asset. He's young enough to get a pick for if we had to make a trade. How many wins are you projecting for this season for the Knicks?

he's not an asset...an asset for what exactly? what can you get for him thats a whole lot better than derrick rose...even if he's broken down
young???
he's a whopping 3 years younger than joakim noah...a worse defender, passer, than noah as well...my only concern is health
he just had his best career season....with a whopping average of 10 and 6...the only good thing was that he was on a nice deal considering the cap now
if everything goes right with this collection of talent they could win 55 games
if everything goes wrong with injuries they can win 30 games
the real number is somewhere in there. high 40s possibly

My Pops Forever RIP
I will leave it at this

This roster is not impressive.
really though?

The signings were unnecessary for the most part. This team has zero chance of competing for a title. It's better to be bad and get better picks than hover around the playoffs imo. Swapping Lopez for Noah really made no sense other than getting Melo's boys here. And Rose blows at this point...folks thinking he;s good are delusional.

Um, no it ain't. I promise you this. It's not. Granted, they're not winning a title this year and I get that's still the goal in mind, but take a look around. That title's not coming to NY for a good while. Enjoy the postseason should everything break right. More than I can brag about.

Giving up on Galloway and Grant so quickly for a year of Derrick Rose doesnt excite me for the longterm tbh.
