The Yay
Womack basically won the nickel CB job on Friday night

It’s early but Womack and Burford having the inside track to be Week 1 starters at nickel CB and RG is a good sign for the 2022 draft class. Especially since they’re both Day 3 picks
They need to stock up on fifth round picks :russ:

Lowkey, their 1st round hit rate has been decent since the 2017 disaster

McGlinchey and Bosa have been Day 1 starters at premium positions and both had their 5th year options picked up. Jury’s still out on Kinlaw, Aiyuk and Trey but they’re all set up in good spots to succeed

McGlitchy has been horrible and a turnstyle. His 5th shouldnt have been picked up. Every year he flucuates weight acting like this year will be different. Had they not picked up his 5th they could have retained the more reliable lineman Laken Tom

No, he hasn’t been horrible. Part of the issue with McG’s reputation is that his bad pass blocking snaps are magnified while his good run blocking is ignored. He’s always been one of the better run blocking tackles since he got drafted and that’s important to have on a run first team

And they were always gonna let Laken walk since tackles are more valuable than guards and tackles are harder to replace

tackles definitely harder to get but we didnt and havent missed a beat with McGlinchy sidelined every year. right now are we not wondering what we gonna do with IOL? and ill go back but there were 2 articles off top of my head about McGlinchy and that 5th ysar option. We can agree to disagree bruh is just not worth the investment thats been put into him. happy and hope to see his ass gone before he gets Trey lit up

Yeah we’ll agree to disagree on this one. I just think McGlinchey has a bad rep with the fans like Ward and Armstead used to have

And I’m not worried about the IOL like that. It looks like they’re settled in on going with Banks-Brendel-Burford at LG-C-RG and they looked fine on Friday. It was only preseason but they passed the first test. We don’t need 3 pro bowlers in the IOL. As long as they’re not major liabilities, we’ll be good
