Jump in black poverty reveals unfulfilled potential in Minnesota

Now some of that is because of people from Chicago, Gary, Milwaukee, etc and the black African immigrants going there for housing and benefits but a lot of that is them simply refusing to hire blacks in positions higher than $7.25 minimum wage

My mother (college educated) was getting work from a temp agency until she had to go in in person to verify some documents, after the lady seen her, she stopped sending her on jobs

How we ended up there was because nikkas was talking about it was the spot, then you realize there is no black middle class and housing is more expensive, we ended up back in Chicago

lmao. So get a fast food manager job and buy a whip. McDonald is hiring. :dead:

Utilize your skills and start an online business.

Yeah, it's that simple. I applied to McDonalds multiple times and they won't hire me. Also, for their management positions you need experience. I don't know what skills I have so I can't just start an nline business out of the blue.

Love
Miami, Florida
Pros: Great warm weather, BEautiful women and cultures, it's as close to living in another country while still being on U.S. soil. Guaranteed to see 65 deg temp every-single-day. No state taxes.
COns: Sh!tty politics, Job market can suck depending on your field
Atlanta, Georgia
PROS: Good weather most of the year. Beautiful black women everywhere, Pretty good job market for the most part
CONS: If you're homophobic, this is not the place for you. Traffic can be a pain and a half.

Austin isn't on your list but it's very close to what you described. I just wouldn't move here if you're black. Everything else it has - nature, lively people, party scene, good job market, sun, lots of rain (lately).
Austin is terrible now breh. I don't recommend it at all. 12 years ago yeah but not its so heavy populated and the traffic is one of the worst in the country

I'll be heading up there soon to check it out . One of my homies up there in Minnetonka/St Paul area swear its "the spot"
Don't know about Minnetonka as that's a pretty wealthy burb. I'm from the city so I pretty much stayed in the city

:scust:at Minneapolis, lived there, high black unemployment, liberal racism, terrible weather and drivers

Same stuff you get in most other cities. I've lived in and around Chicago for the last 12 years. Winter still sucks, drivers suck, still see racism.

What happened to your mom is trash but it ain't strictly a Minneapolis issue. I grew up there, mother was born and raised there and though my pops is from Miami he's been a community organizer/activist there for 35 years so I got a little knowledge about the state of black folks in Minneapolis. Its an issue but not because they just won't hire black people. Its largely because the reality is that the black middle class isn't very big there. Minneapolis was basically a 2nd wave Great migration city. Black folks that moved to Chicago, Detroit, etc came in the 60s and 70s and even 80s. The hood grew but black folks were poor and uneducated. Straight up hiring discrimination isn't an issue like that, at least more so than anywhere else. You're right there is the fake white liberal nonsense where they want to pretend they love everyone but still don't want you dating their daughter, but again, welcome to the midwest. The positives are a much better school system for black kids than most major cities, plenty of things to do, not as much crime as Chicago/Detroit, etc and there are opportunities when it comes to work.

Bham is cool, cost of living is low Southside is poppin on weekends hardly any traffic, you can get anywhere in the city in 20 minutes :yeshrug: but I'd say if you aren't from here it might be a little slow for your liking, way slower than most of the other cities you named. Honestly I'd go with Nashville or Charlotte from that list.

I'm really considering Las Vegas. Something about that city makes me want to take the attempt and live there for awhile. Some say they love it and others say they hate it.

Are there scorpions there or is that something you have to worry about in Arizona, New Mexico, etc?

Also, can you elaborate on the diversity in Las Vegas?

Don't want to have kids now so school system doesn't matter for me at the moment. Not looking for a relationship either.

Do you see Las Vegas improving/changing 5-10 years from now?

I live in Americus, Georgia and it is very slow over here.

lol i've never seen a scoprion before in the area i live in. few geicos here and there and alot of roaches are out in the summer time.

vegas is a transplant city, you have people from everywhere that lives here and not just the states. alot of cubans, mexican, Filipinos, blacks in north vegas. with that diversity you can get anytype of food you really want. italian, mexican, korean bbq restaurants, hawaiian, greek etc.

vegas is a city thats always recreating itself and anytime you see construction somewhere it's a good sign. right now on the strip, they're building a few new luxury casinos on the south end of the strip (by stratosphere) and redeveloping the downtown district. the south part of the strip has always been a shythole with the homeless people and crime. the bread and butter of vegas has always been gaming and entertainment, the goal is to bring more business's and technology here in the next 10 years. zappos (shoe wholesaler) just opened up a new headquarters building downtown few years ago. i honestly don't know what it will be like in vegas 10yrs from now. i've been here for 5 years and alot of changes have gone on since i first came here in 2011.
