from my understanding, all PROs (ASCAP, BMI etc) will only send writer's share checks to the writer; it's difficult to manipulate that. Furthermore, this would be explicitly written in the agreement. There is no way in hell anyone is EVER going to pay you "backend writer's share" royalties when they've gotten 100 beats out of you for $1,750...
If they know you're stupid enough to sell basically an entire catalog of music for less then $2,000 then they know they can tell you whatever you want & sneak in some shoddy wording in whatever contract they offer you & never have to worry about paying you another cent...
You gotta be smarter then this fam...
There's a famous saying used in the Entertainment Business everyday & it goes "There's a sucker born every minute."
That's what the primary focus would be: placements on TV shows. That said, ideally, it'd be fantastic if a licensing opp presented itself from a film studio or video game developer.if it's just crappy library/production music for VH1 shows why not just let it all go at once
even then you should try to get more for that... 100 beats is a lot of time and effort even for bad beats

Btw, stop catching feelings, my dude.

Would $5,000 be more appealing then?
I'm not being offered this deal. This is simply informal market research for a business plan.I'm was tryna help you...
There is no way whoever gave you this offer is ever going to get you paid breh... I've seen this scam done several different ways over the years...
This is right there with dudes who tell you they will pass your music along to other people in exchange for $$$...
He's gonna take your beats & move on to the next "idiot" willing to fall for this...
But you're gonna do it anyway... :kanyeshrug:
This world is so

And, for your information, I've been placing music since 2006. And yesterday was distribution day. (since you like smileys so much)But you're gonna do it anyway... just wait until you get that first VH1 or MTV placement & find out there's no check because it's a free placement because so many people are willing to PAY to get their music on TV that unless you have some hit records out no TV Network is gonna pay you... this is business...

I don't even understand the context of these smileys. But, I appreciate your (feigned) concern. Congrats on your prior successes.
how could it hurt your résumé? wouldn't you rather have your tracks doing something than just sitting on a harddrive? Obviously, the target market wouldn't be producers who are already well established. And, is it a "dead end?" I don't think so. Everyone has to start somewhere.I might be wrong but isn't making library music a complete dead end?
"build your producer resume" my ass... like getting beats you should've deleted played on Love and Hip Hop for 8 seconds is gonna get you on
