The parents feel it's a good time to teach the kids about financial responsibility with a credit card. The kid goes on a shopping spree and quickly reaches the limit. The kid is waking on eggshells trying to get the bill before the parents do. But the day that the bill comes in the mail they were tied up in after school activities/they thought they were in the clear. But once they get home that day, they come home to cross chest parents and the credit card bill.
