My main disappointment with the show is how there has been zero character development for Tariq, dude is basically a side character in his own show. Since season 1 him and Brayden have no soldiers or crew, no plug, no money, etc. The whole point, which the writers did kind of build on from the start was for Tariq to get through college, get his inheritance, and take care of his family and, learn what Ghost was really trying to tell him early on. He has barely progressed as a character if at all, now the inheritance shyt doesn't even matter anymore and him being in college is another pointless arc. I thought they were finally going somewhere with him and Brayden with those final 2 episodes last season but they back at square one and the series finale is this Friday. So at the end of the day what was the fukking point? Ghost was right all along but we been knew that since OG Power.
1000% facts. Night & Day difference between this show and say Snowfall

Book 2 is like rinse & repeat the same plots, conflicts, & resolutions each season.

The formula had gotten stale, so they had no other choice but to change it up. They were too scared to put people in jail, so they would always come up with goofy ass reasons they’d walk. It’d kill the ten from the jump as you already knew what would happen.

The problem is that they should have went the Carter route in earlier seasons instead of late in the game as it’s hard to go back after with how inept they‘ve wrote the law enforcement or just not even done it at all and actually have him arrest someone.

They don’t know how to write characters off without killing them and the only reason they didn’t do it to Lauren was the actress herself IMO

Looking at it now, Monet always had Tariq’s back and the only people Tariq never lied to was Kanan, Davis and Monet.
That’s not entirely true as he wasn’t exactly forthcoming with the information to her that Tasha was the one who shot her and even went along with the Monet and Cane's plan to take out their own family about it.

Another missed opportunity from the writers that Monet never found out the truth before she died.

It’s called “lie of omission”. He technically wasn’t lying about not shooting her, but he knew who shot her and kept that from her to protect his mother.

If he was really serious about doing that, then he would have cut ties with the Tejadas and not answering the phone everytime they call as trouble always follows.

Hell if he was serious about it, then he would have stayed out the game when he had the opportunity to do so.

Tasha told him to leave the Tejada’s alone and worry about his family to only answer the phone with Diana called and now caught up in the Carter fukkery when he wasn’t on his radar anymore.

Well he can cut ties with them now. And I definitely agree with the second part. He had absolutely no reason to sell drugs other than to piss his father off.

At this point, he better hope the Tejada kids don’t come after him for getting their mother killed.

Cane wasn’t lying in the next preview when he said that their plans go bust everytime they try to do it without him.

I mean he’s partially responsible for her death but what else could he do when Carter said he had a video of him killing Zion?

He should have been the apex predator he claims to be in putting a bullet in Carter’s head from the jump and not bytching out.

Nah really though, he needs to cut ties with all the current people in his life as he always ends up in fukkery everytime they call him for help.

It happened with Salim, the drug dealer with Brayden and the white cop lady. Hell, it even happened with Mecca as he wasn’t even on his radar until the Tejada’s called him for help and he ended up with the bag.
