1) 2 scoops of whey protein with water

2) either cantaloupe/dates to spike blood sugar levels and replenish glycogen

3) a multivitamin

4) more water

So eh...carbs are good to eat after a workout? I was always taught before a workout and a whey shake post workout. I was also taughht not to eat anymore carbs after lunch if you workout in the morning...or atleast minimize it.

lol b dont let these cacs fool you

What do you think would be better after you workout....actual food or some man made shake that's one size fit all

with the carb thing, I do agree that as the day goes on you should try to minimize carbs outside of your post workout meal but obviously it's good to eat carbs because they're your main source of energy and your energy is depleted after a workout and no amount of protein restores that...the protein is for the muscle rebuilding part but you still have to be able to wake up the next day with efficiency yazeeme

It is recommended to eat simple carbs post workout to quickly replenish your body with glucose it expended during your workout to give you energy. This can be done with a substance like dextrose or with foods high on the glycemic index like certain fruits.

It's best to take a whey protein shake with water and maybe eat some fruit as a post workout meal to quickly give your muscles protein and replenish energy, or you could kill two birds with one stone and mix your whey protein with Gatorade powder and just have that post workout.

These dudes posting extravagant meals containing complex carbs are hustling backwards, your muscles are in a state of recovery and growth post workout, you gotta get them protein and glucose asap. You should eat a solid meal like an hour after that initial post workout shake/fruit.

so eating a home cooked meal that contains all tthe carbs/proteins/calories you need in a natural form (unlike gatorade mixed with whey :deadrose:) is hustling backwards?
