In 2010 he played better. He was relied on as more of a game manager and he was able to play within that role. His main job was to get the ball to the guys that made the plays, not to BE the guy that makes the plays. Now he's being asked to do more and he can't do it.

Do you guys see the difference?

same OC??
hmmmm, no,
a 'game manager' still moves the ball and makes good decisions. yet you say sanchez doesnt make good decisions...

but you essentially agree that even though "it all starts with QB" it didn't start with him in 2010 ? :heh: contradiction alert !

qbs dont have to WIN games by themselves in football. that's a fallacy which you keep bringing up as an axiom truth.

and you know what I meant with the same oc, it was always schotty up til this year.

yes, he was a good game manager that year. doesn't mean he didn't make stupid decision. what the fukk??

being a "game manager" isn't necessarily a thing player strvies to be. bu that is essentially what he was. Get the ball to the skill players and get the fukk out of the way. He wasn't being relied on like a peyton or brady( I know high praise but its an esy thing to compare) to actually make the plays and control the offense.

He was told what play to make and who the ball to get to and that was it. He wasn't relied on to make in game adjustments and do more than he needed to.

and yes, if I was to say anything on him right now it DOES look like he regressed from then. its still early in the season, but if I were to make the call based on what I have seen so far...and I have watched every game, I'd say he has gotten worse. Or maybe he just isn't anything more than a game managing type qb

Playing the "verbatim game" now?

:rudy:

where did I say this??

where did I say ANYTHING LIKE this??

I said it starts with the qb, he is the one responsible for the play to happen.
he makes whatever adjustments at the line, he makes the audibles he calls out protection and then he determines whether they will run or throw
if they throw he is responsible to make the right read, and get the ball to the receiver. everything after that is on the other player.

NO ONE expects him to win by himself.

in fact I have always been the first person to say that Marino was always the best QB despite not winning BECAUSE a QB can't win by himself.
its not necessarily his fault they didn't win the super bowl.

there are 21 other players that are responsible for their end as well.

the qb's job is NOT to "make plays and control the offense"
its to move sticks, dont turn the ball over and put up points on the board
in 2010 sanchez did a good job of it

so the bolded is ENOUGH to be a good qb

you and trip have a perverted version of what a QB should do.

a good offense can be led by a "game manager", easily. and it doesnt have to start with the qb.

No, thats what is considered a game manager, and thats all he was. He did enough to no lose the game. The running game and the defense carried them that year.

and yes the job of the QB IS to control the offense. they are the one that makes the adjustments at the line. they read the defense and call the audibles (if necessary). they are the ones that start the play. they are on every offensive snap. they have the most responsibility on the offense

What is a qb to you?

every QB does not have the freedom to do what the fukk he wants to with the offense

I never said he would be calling his own plays. BUT they can call audibles after they read the defense

Not all Qbs are allowed to call audibles.

Either way, I'm glad you decided to move away from Schotty and engage in this discussion you jumped in with some of us and Trip.

It shows how flawed your "it starts with the qb" mentality.

No...it doesn't. So many plays fail or succeed due to parts other than the QB.

Tannehill does it cause they allow him to,

I can respect what you're saying if you stop making outlandish unfounded statement.

Joe Flacco is a good example of a QB that had his hands tied until this year
