Finally went ahead and got a gyrados. Only about 1517 cp with 91% iv. Got two magikarps at 96 and 95 iv that I need to start collecting candies for. Got less than 200 right now. Best to collect and evolve instead of powering up the gyrados. Got him in a gym with two others. Hoping they survive thru the night.
Looks like devs were able.to.reverse engineer the API changes and have working scanners again. I think.
