Yeah I've seen the Downtown Silver Spring location. That's about 5 miles from me but the closest besides PG Mall. I went ahead and transferred to that one this morning after doing the virtual tour, looks way better than PG Mall. And I like 24 hours since I might want to work out at 2am a couple of times a week.

I gave them 1 year to update the location and still looks like crap :pachaha: lowkey I think it's gonna shut down cause it's hella empty every time I go. People transferring to better locations with treadmills that work and lockers that lock lol :manny:

They not updating all the equipment and keeping all those cardio machines from Fitness Evolution, they only doing that cuz 95% of the members are Black and Hispanic lol

Good shyt....Nothing like getting it in at a empty gym with no time restrictions, makes you want to go harder:wow:
so true @ the highlighted though, they know the demographic doesn't necessarily have the highest standards and are the main ones too :manny: cause of the price pt and not coming off like a hassle.....only way shyt changes if you come at managements neck.......

I think it's a great hustle. I wish I could've thought of it first.

It's where out of shape people go to feel comfortable around other out of shape people. They inspire each other to remain exactly the same. They give bad advice to each other, don't break a sweat, then hit the massagers before they carb up post workout. On Friday's they get free pizza for their efforts.:mjlol:

Whoever thought of this is a genius. I'm only hating cuz it wasn't me.

My boy has a membership there and I'll go sometimes.

It has everything you need except barbells/powerlifting platforms. Can't work on your clean and jerk, but I can get my cardio in along with some dips, ab work and dumbbell work.

If you like your women a little "fluffier", not a bad place to go.

I fux with the Hyattsville and Ivy City locations but due to the low weight (max 60 lb), I hit the Seat Pleasant location. They have 75 lb dumbbells. :francis:

My wife had a membership there once. She begged me to go with here one day on a friday and i kept saying nahhh, its my rest day. She then said " but its pizza day at the gym"

I was like :dwillhuh:

The fukk kind of gym gives out free pizza :dead:

I went just out of curiousity and saw a bunch of out of shape dads in there flexing in the mirror and giving eachother "advice".

The whole time i was there i was just :mjlol:

Trained my mother at one for about a month using her membership that allows free guest passes. They didn't care one bit. I was blatant as hell about it, too. Much later I mentioned it to a trainer friend of mine in passing. He said he and a bunch of other trainers do that for their clients for cheap gym access. Wouldn't think PF supported the hustle like that :ehh:

But yea, PF is fine. The month I was there showed me they don't hate on hard workers, they just trynna keep out the fukknuts who have zero gym etiquette.

Those who..

slam barbells on safety pins
are allergic to re-racking plates
wrecklessly drop dumbbells
deadlift metal on metal
wear nipple-bearing tanktops
try and intimidate people off equipment ( :guilty:)
accompany an enormous area for one exercise
spread chalk everywhere
don't clean up after themselves
shout at the top of their lungs during their 1/4 ROM lift

...tend to fall into that category.

I ain't trynna deal with that fukkery at 50+yo. shyt, I ain't trynna deal with that now. :heh:

Out here in my damn drawls
I copped a membership because they're everywhere

Whenever I don't feel like driving to my regular gym, I just hit them up

Between 2 am to 5 am, the gym is pretty much yours

I like the hydro massage too

The "fitness industry" doesn't revolve around Planet Fitness. There will always be hardcore gyms where bodybuilders and power lifters are pushing weight beyond normal, whether they are on the juice or not. The only thing I don't like about those gyms is getting chalk on your clothes from the barbell bars. That's about it.
PF is a competitor but won't shut down other established gyms. They aren't the only ones doing the '24/7, average joe, fitness club, business model'.

They are the only ones charging $10 a month

doesn't really effect any other gyms in my city. plenty of smaller gyms around where people actually work out. the one i go to i see the same faces everyday I go (4-5 days a week). no flabby n sick goin on in there ALL year round. just people dedicated to fitness. Its a way more constructive environment than PF.
I started at PF 6 years ago and had to go late at night so I wouldn't be bothered about deadlifting by the staff. The girl that worked late didn't mind at all.
Moved on to the current gym I'm at now (past 4 years) its $20/month but 100x better.
