I go with the wifey sometimes. I’m outta shape, but can still push heavy weight and their dumbbells max out at 75 lbs . If you’re like me and like thicker chicks, there’s eye candy almost every time you go there. Wifey always talks about how the hydro massage is worth the membership.

That's the best part. Them thick-ums that want to get in shape but still like to eat a little :wow:. First time I'd ever been to a gym where I saw chesty broads (I"m talking F-cups and up) actually working out FOR REAL. Usually the big girls hit the elliptical, walk slow on the treadmill or go overboard doing 5-lb shoulder presses or some shyt. At PF they gave no fukks and just went for it.

:laff::laff::laff: At this Entire Thread

My girl has pass so I finally gave in joined her yesterday after 2 years of saying hell no because one is close to my house now, to fill my cardio day in instead of going to my gym which is 15 minutes a way

I went to go see the options they have :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:@ Any grown man in there whose seriously lifting should be a shamed of himself. I went to stretch and homeboy in there looked at me like I was about to grunt into the next building

Great because if the people who go there were not members at planet fitness they’d be in the way somewhere else :manny:

No they wouldn't. Theyd be at home watching TV using their bellies as a tray for their snacks.

its an ingenious business model.

PF is not for people who actually want to work out/get in shape/lose weight. its for people who TALK about doing those things.

bytches be in there riding bike and reading novels :gucci: da fuq you gettin in shape?

PF goal is to have an empty gym all the while collecting dues from a mass majority of people who dont come yet its too cheap for them to cancel once they get locked in to that rate.

people like me? they dont want a mass amount of customers like. I had a black card and so mine was $20 a month and I would go in there 5-6 days a week with a guest. if even 25% of the members did that, they would have to raise the price because that is more wear and tear on the equipment and more staff that has to be on duty.

I love it after New Years when all these people (mostly women) come in and join the gym cuz they have some new years resolution. :mjlol:usually trying to drop 20 lbs or fit in some dress or get down to a certain size. they go hard for 2 weeks, then they never come back. but they wont cancel because they keep saying they will. :francis:

I joined Lifetime. A real gym with real amenities. I still have my PF because so many of my friends still work out there.

its psychology. if you were paying $30-50 per month and found yourself not going, you would cancel with quickness. but most people dont really miss the $10 even thought its like throwing it down the toilet.

someone once told me that PF is for people that want to get in shape....but not today.

Bit the bullet and got the black card membership. I wish they had real benches though that’s my only complaint.

The hydro and chair massages tho..good god :lawd:
The one by my crib has real benches. I’m pretty sure it’s the only one I’ve been to that does have it though (probably been to 20 different locations at this point).

I'm not sure what's happening with the ones around here, but I just found out that the one closest to me is open 24/7 now, and when I checked online, seems like all the ones in the Triangle are too. Even the ones that used to be "24/7" were closed in the evenings on the weekends but open 24/7 during the week. Got me like :jbhmm: now; I always preferred to go work out late at night, and this would be the only 24/7 joint in the area....

I joined back last week. The 24/7 part was a game changer for me. All the gyms that are 24/7 are either too far away or too small with not enough equipment (Anytime Fitness). This one is close by the crib, and it's gotten a whole bunch of new equipment. They got rid of the few bench press setups they had, and now they have six Smith machines. Doesn't matter cause I still have my Fitness Connection membership for the weekends since I normally swim laps after my workout. My Push Pull Legs program wraps around the weekend, so I'm happy with that, plus if something comes up and I can't get to the gym over the weekend, I can always go later at night to PF.

As a business model it works, I recall reading an article in The Economist about gyms facing declines in business while PF still goes strong. The subscription model and low price point is a huge selling point for them but their real winner is their focus on the attitude towards losing weight/getting fit. Most people get derailed because the discipline required to be consistently visiting the gym, eating right seems to be relaxed by PF that emphasizes a lot more on how they are judgment free and relaxed atmosphere. It is also the reason why meal prep companies and Weight Watchers also face that problem. Their points system and the need to adhere to a strict routine eventually wears on their customer base, they have recently started advertising other meals that may contain more calories in order to lessen the "pain" of going through that journey. PF is good for the same customer base that companies like Weight Watchers go for and other meal prep companies.

I think this thread was made to shyt on PF. Anyway, I have a membership there and I'm not for the bullshyt. I go in and get my workout done. I started going and I was 165 ( I'm 6'4 mind you) now I'm 230 nice cut. I've seen plenty of dudes that start and are now cut the fukk up by sticking with there plan/goals.

Yes they do offer candy, pizza and coffee. But I've never had any of that shyt because it would defeat the purpose.

I lasted one month, the gym was a joke, more treadmill, bikes than weights. The little machines they did have stayed broken in need of repair. To top it off people were bullshyttin seating on stations or benches playing on their phones, that damn alarm got on my nerves. I guess you can't expect much for 10 dollars a month.
