Horford--Already in a good situation with Atlanta, just came off of being the #1 seed and ATL will likely be a top 3 seed once again. Incentive to continue chemistry with Teague and co. more enticing than anything the Knicks roster can offer.

Parsons--Even if you do get him he does not make you a contender, and he may not opt out and become a free agent in 2016.

Conley--The triangle does not need a really good PG to succeed and MC will be 29 when the 2016 season starts, given a large contract/making him a large piece of the puzzle would not make much sense given his age and how deep the PG position is. Given those factors he would more than likely want to go to an already established contender as the last missing piece, something the Knicks won't be at the time of his free agency decision.
I get it.

That makes sense. I'm saying, people won't be saying no to NY because of ineptitude. They will say no if they like their situation... that's a step up from the past.

It can work with him I never said otherwise , but a player of his caliber is not needed for it to succeed to its full potential. Not worth the contract he would want.

No, it doesn't. Williams is a fukking bench player at best.

He's being paid to be a bench player. In 20 mpg, he makes plenty of sense and he'd give Melo flexibility to guard 3's or 4's which could conserve his health. Not that D-Will is anything on defense, but he technically can guard either Forward and that's nice to have with Melo.

honestly brehs really looking at Phil's roster moves of acquiring Afflalo and D.Williams. Those contracts are the exact kind of contract you want to have on the roster if you were thinking your going to move Melo later in the season

:manny:

More or Less both are expirings or if they take the option short term cheap deals. They can be easily packaged with Melo to get something more back/salary match or they can leave on their own at the end of the season or they can stay for 1 more year for a little bit of money. That Afflalo and D.Will contract just screams "This shyt aint built to last as is" to me because they are short/cheap deals. On their own teams probably wouldn't want them but both deals would be great trade filler.

RoLo was the only really good acquisition because he's young going into his prime Center and can be the starting C regardless if Melo stays or leaves. Even then RoLo could be moved too if Phil thinks that is the plan.

Anyhow once Melo has shown the league he is healthy and teams come to realize they are a player like Melo away from being a legit contender I wouldn't be surprised to see him get moved for a packaged based around youth and picks. I mean the only goal this season is to not give the Nuggets/Raptors a good pick. Thats a shytty goal for a season, even saying that its to learn the triangle is questionable because outside of the youth only RoLo and Melo will likely be here in 2016.

Knicks are not moving Melo......the Afflalo & Williams signings are low risk, high reward situations.

And NOBODY expected the Knicks to be contenders in 1 off season. Phil did a very good job with the cap that we had & with who was available. Gasol & Aldridge were not coming here. They both gave signs of that during the season

Yeah those are great trade pieces. I'm not even caught up on the knicks not getting a star player or being a contender. Just look at the make up of the team and outside of a RoLo's at market deal Phil added 2 guys with extremely movable contracts. Either or both those deals would be great filler in trades.
