Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
I rather they keep Melo and get something back for him than let him walk and get dust. When Melo wants to be traded he'll waive it and the knicks will get assets either directly or part of a 3 way trade.

If they're going to trade him it would have to be as soon as possible, he's 31 and coming off a knee surgery. The older he gets the worse the package for him will be, he'd waive the NTC for the Rockets, and the Rockets have the assets to make it worthwhile.

What do you think a trade with the Rockets would look like? And do you think Philly would be interested in trading Nerlens or Okafor for Carmelo if Embiid returns fully healthy?

Donatas, Beverly, Dekker, Jones and picks for Melo, basically 3 starters for him is what you'd expect right now, and some future assets.

The Sixers wouldn't trade for him, and he wouldn't wave his ntc for them.

Yeah its my opinion. I'm not Isola talking about shyt is a guarantee.

Also I'm not one of those conspiracy guys talking about Phil is trying to force Melo out of town, and I'm not against Melo staying either.

What I'm saying is if Phil was really trying to do a slow build through FA why would he get 2 guys on short deals that will opt out if they play well?

If the knicks plan to keep them they will then eat into the knicks cap space next years when they opt out to get a raise. If they decide to leave to just go to another team the knicks need to find players all over again to replace them. If they suck and stay those deals are hard to swallow either.

In the era of the cap raise where every year the minimum goes up those two contracts are basically expiring.

He's handing out player options because they are attractive to free agents.

You do a short deal during a rebuild if you're testing the waters. Why would you lock yourself into lock term deals with unproven players?

If they play well and opt out, we can:
- sign them back
- sign another free agent
- promote from within after using a draft pick and developing a player because we expected an opt out
- use a draft pick to fill a need

@ me if this is cooking in the background so I can plan a trip to NYC around the trade deadline. I'll plan a trip from the Garden to the Toyota Center and won't even ask the Knicks to reimburse me for the mileage.
