What did "they" do? Did "they" add or take away...because you've been saying add.
The early definitions didn't even include any allusion to power. So the later definitions do.
What is it?! Your posts are constantly shifting in content and direction.
I never began this discussion with you to wax abstract about the word "racism" disappearing. I keep quoting you on your reply to me that led to this circuitous exercise in futility.
I keep posting that quote to try to keep you focused. It's not working, tho.
You're saying this argument is futile, yet you keep coming back to it after you said you'd leave. Anyway, I suppose we're going to have go slow on this one, even though I've already stated what's going on here. Using the definition of racism that YOU pulled
But I just looked in a 1969 American Heritage Dictionary
Defintion: the notion that one's own ethnic stock is superior.
Now, keeping with American Heritage Dictionary's definition of racism currently, this is what their current definition of racism is-
rac·ism (rāsĭz′əm)
Share: rac·ism
n.
1. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
2. Discrimination or prejudice based on race.
racist adj. & n.
Now, let's take a look at 1 and 2. 1 has been ADDED TO to include that race accounts for 'human character or ability'. Whites can use something like this to include Blacks as being 'racist' if we bring up the inherent physical attributes that are superior to whites which have been proven by science (which I'm not getting into). It can also be used to claim we're racist if we make a claim that most whites are 'racist' by nature, hence 'differences in human character.'
Now if we look strictly at 2, racism is defined as 'discrimination or prejudice based on race.'
American Heritage Dictionary Entry: racism
Here are the definitions if discrimination and prejudice according to American Heritage Dictionary
dis·crim·i·na·tion (dĭ-skrĭm′ə-nāshən)

2. The ability or power to see or make fine distinctions; discernment.
3. Treatment or consideration based on class or category, such as race or gender, rather than individual merit; partiality or prejudice.
prej·u·dice (prĕjə-dĭs)

n.
1.
a. The act or state of holding unreasonable preconceived judgments or convictions: "This is not actually a volume of the best short stories ... These are just the stories that I like best, and I am full of prejudice and strong opinions" (Ann Patchett).
b. An adverse judgment or opinion formed unfairly or without knowledge of the facts: a boy with a prejudice against unfamiliar foods.
2. Irrational suspicion or hatred of a particular social group, such as a race or the adherents of a religion.
3.
a. Detriment or harm caused to a person, especially in a legal case: The delay operated to her prejudice.
b. Preclusionary effect, preventing further pursuit of one's interests: The case was dismissed with prejudice.
With the INCLUSION of PREJUDICE and DISCRIMINATION and their definitions, Blacks are included simply because we know whites as a majority ARE RACIST, not because we deem ourselves as SUPERIOR. Again, white supremacy is the system in place that can demonstrate SUPERIORITY. If you don't get this, then you don't get it. It's funny how you keep trying to save the white man though. This topic ain't got shyt to do with Blacks being 'racist' towards whites, yet you HAD to interject that Blacks could be racist under the current definition of racism. It's disgusting...
