Then on top of that if he doesn't play another down of NFL football he gets 141 million guaranteed On top of that he will get additional money for each year he makes the Roster. With Roster bonus's you don't have to kill your cap as much especially when you can stretch the money over a 10 year contract. In reality by next March he will get 131 Million guaranteed to him (on top of the 63 million he received for signing his name on the dotted line today. Roster bonus's are vetted 1-2 years which means he will get those roster bonus's for the next 2 years at the minimum wish is where the bulk of this half a billion dollar contract comes from so definitely not a mistake. He The Chiefs are realistically stuck with Mahomes and can't get out of the deal until at least year 6. So he will be getting tons in roster bonus's until then. Not to mention endorsements. What literally just happened today will set Patrick Mahomes up to have a Michael Jordan like post career.
