So you think a child growing up devaluing the life of another human being is based on their zip code? Either you're teaching it or allowing it. It doesn't matter where you get your mail delivered to.
My post was a direct reference to @BrothaZay saying his parents should have moved from the hood to show that wouldn't change the person.

I'm not saying anything you implied

Why ask questions when the answer was in my post.

I don't respect it because a fukked up youth is an instant red flag for bad parenting.

This is the most naive shyt I have seen today, and it usually comes from people with no children. For some reason people think that kids that grow into adults are merely robots who act out only what their parents program them to do. And as long as the parent carefully and properly programs the child, said child will execute the correct actions and parameters 100% of the time in adulthood post age 16.

The ONLY people who can truly think this are the inexperienced. Individuals have agency, and they can make decisions for themselves outside of their upbringing. And if you are still green enough to think otherwise, go ask your local pimp about how many daughters of pastors he has turned out.

Upbringing only helps the odds. It doesn't guarantee a result. You have no fukking idea what his upbringing was like. And the only thing that obituary tells you about these people is that they don't like to like or sugarcoat things under any circumstances; even the circumstances where it hurts the most.

Thats all...

Most parents don't keep it real about their kids. Even one of the Columbine killer mother said her son was a good kid :mjlol: . Most parents are delusional about their own kids because all they see is that innocent baby they birthed and raised.Parents never keep it all way 100 about their kids no one has ever heard a parent say about their troubled kid "Yea they in hell right now".

Still don't know that for a fact until you tried. I've seen hood kids change when they move somewhere else

How can y’all blame the parents in this? Even by the way the letter is written you can tell they tried but the son was hard headed.

as a good parent you do your best for your kids try and give them all the tools to succeed but for some kids nothing is more enticing than the streets. You try and pull them back but they gotta learn on their own. Hopefully they make it thru without disgracing the family.

I’m speaking as one of those kids that made it thru. I look at my past life and just smh.

Parents are always responsible. If your kid is skipping school and terrorizing people in a gang that's on you as a failure as a parent. Nobody has a bigger impact on a child's development. They likely got involved too late. Elementary school age are the most important formative years cause that sets the tone and good/bad habits kids follow for the rest of their life. A lot of parents cruise through this stage.. let their kids watch tv all day and play video games instead of emphasizig reading, writing, and math the importance of school. its really hard to change a kid in middle school and high school age. The habits are already formed but this is where a lot of folks try to start parenting cause that when kids start to get real punishment at school and held accountable but it's too late by then.

Parents came off like some fukk nikkas for that.

I get what they tried to do, but nobody can substantiate their parenting so all that grandstanding just comes off as extra and fake as fukk. I honestly don't think that any parent that truly tried to do everything possible for their child will sound that smug and soulless. No tact at all. All that shyt could have been summed up in a couple sentences, but these nikkas went all 300 bars on a nikka.

They did this for themselves.

just my opinion tho. :manny:

R.I.P to the young man.
