Kidd is def not overrated, but dont use this to prove he wasnt a poor shooter. He was a poor shooter.
he was for the first half and for the prime of his career..but he developed into a very very solid 3p shooter late in his career.. hit 40 and 42 3p% on 300-400 3pfga

you don't hit those #s as a poor shooter. though the spotlight was off him as he was like 14 years into his career by then

so most of his career... he was a poor shooter.

A little bit, yes. Couldnt play any D at all, only averaged 18 ppg for his career (though some of that was dragged down by his later years), was never a top 10 player at any point in time in his career, and only made 3 All-NBA 3rd Teams throughout his career. Great player, clutch shooter, and amazing longetivity, but a little iffy on whether he belongs in the HOF
I agree with you that Reggie didn't have the
offensive numbers of the other top shooting guards of his time but I think that was by the design of their teams. They played a slower style of ball and were coached by Larry brown and had a pretty balanced team. They were a veteran team and had others scorers to carry the load. Rik smits, derrick mckey, schrempf, mark jaxs, and at least one of the davis boys were all double figure scorers on the team as well. He scored his 18 points on less than 13 shots/game and he got to the line at will where he was a 85+ ft shooter on a perrenial playoff team. He wasn't a great defender by any stretch either but I think his defensive deficiencies are over stated. He took a lot of charges and was pretty crafty on the defensive end.

Klay is good but let's not let get fooled. Klay does NOT consistently create shots for himself or others. He'll do great for a couple of games but its about consistency.

Klay is nowhere near Harden offensively. Ball handling, drawing fouls, putting pressure on defenses, craftiness, etc.

Klay plays with a GOAT-talent shooter off the dribble, multiple great playmakers (Iggy, Bogut, Curry, and Green), and a well put together team.

Klay is a great two way player but he's still shown himself as more of a complimentary piece rather than a superstar piece which isn't a bad thing. Korver is a complimentary piece and he's probably one of the most dangerous players in the NBA.

I'd love Thompson on my team.

How do you rate Russ Westbrook? To me he's very similar to AI (style of play wise but russ gets way more love here)and he's my most overrated player of today. He is this generations AI except he plays with an MVP (who's better than prime melo), doesnt have his own MVP, no scoring titles, and he misses a whole lot more games. Vince played with 2 hall of famers, has no rings, no MVP, no scoring titles, and was sent home by Iversons sixers in his MVP season on his way to the finals. Not really sure why you brought up Vince to try to shyt on AI

You cant build an offense on Westbrook.. but hes the #1 sidekick that everyone needs in a team with a top Superstar.. Westbrook fits perfectly with Durant in that regard

And Westbrook >> AI

this dude mench15 in here has said
1. jason kidd is overrated
2. followed it up by saying kid is "unquestionably top 10 pgs all time" while trying to support his absurd claim that kidd is overrated. of the thousands of players that have played the point position he 'unquestionably' has kidd 10 all time AND overrated at the same time :mjlol:
3. pointed out kidd's shooting % while bigging up bob cousy as being ahead than kidd, who unless mench15 is a 74 year old man, he never saw play :mjlol:
PLUS the fact that cousy shot 37.5% from the field for his entire career, along with 7.5 assists in a weaker, less competitive, less athletic :flabbynsick: league full of skinny crackers :camby: but u saw cousy play and is clearly ahead of jason kidd :usure:

kidd averaged1 less pts and 2 assists less than stockton without enjoying the luxury of playing with a hall of famer his entire career, while being a better defender and rebounder is one of the strongest/ best defenders and rebounders ever at the pg position (6.3 reb per game) and even guarded lebron at times in the 2011 finals
but he's overrated. :beli:
