Oscar was a small forward.

Didn't see Cousy or Frazier.

On that list Three way tie for third. Stockton, Payton, Kidd. *shrugs shoulders* But Kidd never played with no one NEAR the HOF. Malone is a HOF and Kemp might get in eventually.

Oscar may have had great size for a PG, but he played every game of his career at the PG position. Magic was a PG in a PF's body but I don't hear anyone making the claim that he was technically a PF (except the 1995-96 season where he played all 32 games at PF)

I don't disagree with your assertion that Kidd did not have HOF talent around him, save for the later years where he played with Vince Carter on the Nets and eventually in Dallas where he played with Dirk. But at the same time, we're still talking about someone who averaged 13/6/9 for his entire career. I will admit, some of those numbers were dragged down because of his declining role as he aged, but in his prime, he was good for about 15-16 points and 9-10 assists per game. Given the fact that he did it for 10 years straight and half of those were with rather poor supporting casts, that's HOF material, but it's still an uphill battle arguing him over the all time assist leader and one of the best scoring guards and defenders of the past generation

Kendall Gill was seen as the next MJ before he came in the league.

Klay Thompson - he's not the best SG in the league and doesn't have a case when all he really does is shoot 3s and play defense. Granted he's extremely good at those 2 things but people arguing him over Harden is ridiculous when he has trouble creating his own shot
Paul George - not a superstar, just an above average SF that gets hyped up because he plays great defense and is the leading scorer on one of the worst offensive teams in the league
Andre Drummond - someone went as far as saying he would be a top 10-12 player at the end of the season. How can he be anywhere near that when he cant score from anywhere outside of 5 feet from the basket and only excels in 1 area, which is rebounding?

Past

Joe Dumars - didnt play defense and was simply not HOF material. Very good scorer but not amazing, he just happened to be on a team that won 2 titles
Dennis Rodman - just because he was an extraordinary rebounder and an excellent defender doesnt mean that he's a Hall of Famer. Role players are not HOF material, regardless of how good they are at what they do
Jason Kidd - even if you ignore the fact that he turned the ball over a lot (which I'm willing to look past because of his high number of assists and playmaking ability), he was a 40% shooter for his career and did not particularly amaze at the offensive end of the floor
Allen Iverson - possibly the most overrated player in NBA history, was a shotjacker who got recognition because he crossed over MJ. A straight up ballhog, the last player you would want on your team, and gambled on steals too much. He is the definition of a highlight reel player, the type of guy you'll see make an amazing play from time to time but overall lacks substance as a player. I would never want him to be the SG for my team, much less the PG
What can't Klay do that good 2 guards can do?

If we're talking strictly about good 2 guards, nothing. If we're talking about elite 2 guards, he cant create his own shot consistently, isn't a particularly great or willing passer or facilitator, and struggles to gain separation from defenders when not running through screens or having Steph set up plays for him. He also doesnt really tend to shoot from anywhere in between the 3 point line and right under the rim

Well here's how I feel about Rodman: he's the best non-big rebounder the game has ever seen and one of the most versatile defenders as well. But he was such a liability on the offensive end of the floor that he would solely get in position to grab offensive rebounds and score on putbacks. IMO I don't think that's HOF material except under the condition that we induct 1 player at every position who was the best at what they did. If we're going to induct a player into the HOF because they were the best SF rebounder of all time and the one of the most versatile SF defenders, then he deserves to be in. If not, then I don't see a reason for him to get in when other players with more deserving resumes haven't been inducted

Kidd is a HOF'er regardless, but he's overrated because he was a rather poor shooter his entire career. When you average only 40% for your career, you're inefficient. Allen Iverson is generally regarded as an inefficient shotjacker (which he is), and he shot 42% for his career

Kidd is not overrated fukk outta here with that shyt :pacspit:

Do you think Reggie Miller is overrated? And how can you watch this and say Klay can't create his own shot consistently? Look how he scored on Jimmy Butler who is considered the best wing defender in the league at the 1:45 mark

A little bit, yes. Couldnt play any D at all, only averaged 18 ppg for his career (though some of that was dragged down by his later years), was never a top 10 player at any point in time in his career, and only made 3 All-NBA 3rd Teams throughout his career. Great player, clutch shooter, and amazing longetivity, but a little iffy on whether he belongs in the HOF
