AGAIN, YOU ALWAYS FAIL TO THINK OUTSIDE OF THE BOX. REGARDLESS OF THE THREAD OR TOPIC.
youre too caught up in content - and outkast's content was very vague & subliminal. your average casual rap fan never viewed them as a weed-smoking, drug dealing pimp playa group. especially once they really started taking off.
youre completely ignoring the stylistc comparisons, the vibes, as well as the presentation.
not to mention they were laface's rap group for pete's sake!!!!!!!!!!!
and on top of that, LA Reid is on-record saying that arrested development is the reason he signed outkast. STR8 FROM THE HORSE'S MOUTH.
like i said, you and others on this board want outkast to be seen in a certain light because theyre your favorites, and you prolly view groups like arrested development, pm dawn & them in a bad light.
outkast is way more likely to get bumped in a mix with those groups, as opposed to too short. LOL.
even the earliest outkast stuff, you can play back-n-forth with arrested development and keep the same vibe.
Breh, nothing about what they were doing was ever vague. It was very in your face. Again, you have never heard a Kast album before in your life for there to be this much of a disconnect.
The whole aesthetic of Kast was nothing like Arrested Development. Reid didn't say he signed Kast because they reminded him of Arrested. He is on record saying he was sold on Kast because Arrested's "Tennessee" was successful. Before Kast, Arrested and Kriss Kross were the only mega successful Hip Hop artists from GA.
Nobody looks at Kast in that light but you.
