@Akan

I actually don't know Berber Libya is. Like Algeria, most Libyans are ethnically mixed with Berber. However, they seem to be largely Arab in their culture. Berbers, who still identify as Berbers in Libya, are like 10 per cent of the population.
Libya's Berbers fear ethnic conflict

It is kind of intellectually lazy to keep referring to anybody that practices Islam as being Arabs. I keep going back to the basic premise that only people from Arabia are truly Arabs. A dude from Mali, Pakistan or Indonesia that practices Islam is not truly an Arab, but I think that people keep interchanging those things.

I see this a lot too. For some reason, some Americans call Mexicans, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans - "Spanish". I think it's because they've never seen a Spaniard? A similar phenomenon.

It's because this groups called themselves that when they started coming over (at least in the east coast)

Colonialist mindset.

In contrast, a Hausa would never call him/herself an Arab. A Javanese would never call him/herself an Arab. Uighurs, Wolof, Bengalis, Chechens, Malays etc. etc.
:yeshrug:
They were all colonies so :yeshrug:

In the Silver Lining
Remember when Libya was a stable country with highest standard of living in Africa and was prepping to use the gold dinar as a potential currency in some African countries....

Remember it wasn't an Arab that ultimately toppled this prosperous and stable nation but BHO and HillRod... just in case the historical revisionist forget that and end up blaming Trump, Russia, and Climate Change

Now triple this times Syria and Yemen...and y'all wonder why folks didn't want to vote for HillRod and folks are now wondering why they voted for Trump if he's just going to be Hillary in drag (as I heard on Rogue Money Report).

True. The key difference might be that the imprint of European culture on say Indonesians or Northern Nigerians is far less heavy compared to European cultural imprint on Dominicans or Puerto Ricans?
Yep. Also they are directly descended from Spaniards.
