My last word on Kyrie's assist totals...
1. No one says Jennings isn't a true point and he averages the same amount of dimes as Kyrie. No one says Tony Parker not a PG and he averages 6 dimes for his CAREER. No one says Jrue isn't a true point with that 4.5 dime per average he had just last year. Why is that? Because they can't shoot or handle like Kyrie and no one is threatened by them. You tellin me Ty Lawson a TRUE PG because he gets ONE more dime per game than Kyrie? Mike Conley a TRUE PG wit dat lil .02 dime lead over kyrie? Wall is a TRUE creator because 8 dimes with AWFUL shooting numbers looks more "point guardy" that 6 dimes and ELITE shooting numbers? Are dudes THIS mad that Kyrie done surpassed their guys in 18 months? Dudes who harp on Kyrie's assist total have agendas with other PGs and they scared and need a talking point. If it was 18 and 6, he'd be a "point guard" with not much to pass to. people would UNDERSTAND. But, that big ass 24PPG on 47,40 and 85 percentages BOTHERS haters. Bottomline.
2. He plays in Byron's Scott's stupid (but necessary for this wack ass roster) Princeton offense. He does not have the ball half the time he crosses the halfcourt line. He directs offense OFF BALL at least 40% of the time. Count how many time a game Kyrie brings it up and passes off to a big in the high post or hands off to a wing and runs to the opposite side of the court. Count it, please. The only time he KEEPS the ball is in tight games down the stretch. Then, it's his show. Byron runs this offense to free up his best scorer...Kyrie, who is brilliant off-ball, with-ball, off curls...whatever...he can score. But, Byron don't want him passing outta doubles all damn game, which is what would happen if he KEPT the ball. John Wall HAS to keep the ball to create for himself and to direct the offense (which he sucks at halfcourt, by the way) and if ya have the ball the WHOLE time you on the court, you will get dimes. Ask Grievas. If you take John Wall OFF BALL, what the fukk is he worth? Nothing...he may as well be a cardboard cutout of a damn dumpster.
2. Despite being one of the best pick and roll PGs in the L (along with Paul, Lillard, Vasquez, Nash, Deron), Kyrie has not ONE big that can consistently finish an open jumper or a roll into the damn lane and FINISH. not ONE. Paul had Dave West (beast 15-18 footer) and now has Blake (beast FINISHER), so don't act like Chris Paul was creating new angles and defying the laws of physics with his passes on those hornets teams. Dave West used to cook that damn jumper for HALF of paul's dimes every...single...game. I ain't even gotta cyse...look at this link: now i ain't sit there and count how many of CP's dimes were to west, but i saw west knock down several 15-18s off CP passes within the first few minutes...just sayin' if you have the time to watch and count, please report back to me. Lillard got Aldridge. Grievas got Anderson and Davis, Deron got Brook, Nash got Pau and Clark and Tawn. Who be knockin down shots like that for Kyrie? Has Tristan Thompson even TAKEN a 15-18 footer this year? And have you seen the clumzo-fest when he ROLLS to the basket all outta control? Zeller don't hit them consistently, which is sad, because he can shoot a lil bit, but he DON'T SHOOT THE SHOT. i mean, he is adjusting to his new role with andy out, but kyrie look at him like he crazy several times a game for not shootin a wide open J. austin carr talks about it several times a game. And Zeller rolls to the cup like a damn punk. He scared of contact.
3. No jump shooters on the wings to kick out to. Look at the roster. I'm not explaining this. Boobie a good shooter, but he not even on the floor WITH kyrie very long to even matter.
4. That roster. It just isn't good. Speights and his jumper will help A LOT tho. But, when the best shooter you've ever played with was 40 year-old Anthony Parker...yeah, there's a problem. No bigs with great HANDS that can FINISH. C'mon...even BAD rosters have this. Cav's don't.
anyway...watch a Cavs game and look at how he does and DON'T get dimes. and then read my post again. and then praise my fukkin accuracy.
