It’s not moving the goalposts. It actually proves my point. You cleave off AWS and you’re looking at a company that underpays vs more pure play tech companies (FAANG).
The resulting retail business can’t even compete on profitability without the tech side of the biz helping cover it. So it can’t even afford the pay you were saying was so competitive without workers getting screwed elsewhere. Yet Amazon was able to bury other retailers not named Walmart and Target despite not having a profitable business.
So no matter how you cut it, someone is getting fukked over. White or blue collar, take your pick.
