I ate well done for years, tried medium and medium well and haven’t looked back since, much more tender and flavorful. I can’t eat medium rare though, I feel queasy after eating it.

Due to slavery, blacks were limited to the type of meat they could eat....often it would be poor quality so we would have to cook it well done since cacs were giveng us expired meat as scraps. Because blacks didnt have the medical care they should've had and they weren't trying to take chances, Well Done became damn near a necessity

Black folks then innovated and learned to slow cook tough meat and made it delicious.

Till this day black folk prefer more well done steak

Medium is perfect for me. I don’t like the texture of medium rare.

I'm not soo big on steak when it comes to my choice of red meat but I've never had a medium rare or below steak.

With that said, not all well-done steaks are dry, flavorless, tough, etc. in texture...you can have a juicy, flavorful, well-done steak, too, if cooked properly; I've seen it done before.

Having higher quality steak well done kills the flavor. Might as well cook a shoe at that point.

I only eat well done if I’m eating someone’s house if I’m at restaurant I’m getting medium rare or rare.
