Confirmed that they're both out. And it was expected. KD isn't confident he's in game shape, and if he's out why risk Kyrie when we just spent 5 months dealing with a mysterious shoulder injury.

I'd love to find a way to keep our pick, but we'd have to either go 0-8 or just throw the play-in series to Orlando.

On the other side, it seems no matter what this group does they're destined to be trade bait, so its probably best to have them play well and increase their value.

What the story behind this year’s draft pick?

What the story behind this year’s draft pick?

Traded it to dump Crabbe on the Hawks for Prince. 1-14 protected which is why when Kyrie went down the second time I wished we missed the playoffs, but I've accepted we'll lose the pick.

Still have Philly's 1st coming in tho and they're around the same range so not too bad.

Yeah I don't know either. The biggest issue seemed like players not being able to buy a bucket for stretches, especially when they have a upcoming free agency like Joe.

I'm just convinced Jordan not starting had a lot to do with it, KD/Kyrie got pissed their bff was sitting too long. They said they came here for the style of play now it's no good.

But you have to play the game if you want the players though so you have to bend over backwards, but DJ's ass belonged on the bench because he sucks.

I'm shocked at Spencer though, plenty of times where Kenny stuck with him when Caris was the obvious choice. Kyrie's been unhappy with at least something everywhere he's gone so as long as he's overall happy about team direction then whatever, that's just who KD & Kyrie are personality wise. It was the Spencer show after Kyrie went down so I'm not sure what his deal is.

I’m not sure what the beef with the offense could’ve been. Top 10 in pace, 4/5 out, motion based offense with a ton of PnR. Seems like a perfect fit

When i read that tweet i had to listen to the podcast cause i was confused myself.

Shams said word for word "they didnt like the free for all offense..no set style"

Starts around 27mins
‎Load Management: NBA Insider Shams Charania Talks NBA Return, Free Agency, Giannis, + NBA Bubble Fantasy Draft on Apple Podcasts

He said since training camp they've been questioning the offense (KD & Kyrie).

Dlo felt Kenny held him and Caris back. :patrice:

Kd, Kyrie, Spence questioned Kenny's offense since training camp :patrice:

I put an expiration date on Kenny and it was the following season after KD comes back. We'd make some waves and show some promise with KD but it would be clear Kenny's rotations cost us and he had to go.

I'm not going to take too much stock in training camp/pre-season talk, especially when he never got to run a play for his best player and his second best player got knocked out the preseason and was in and out the regular season. It isn't fair imo.

That said, Kenny at his next stop is going to have to lose his development coach label. I have doubts about him leading a team to a title.

I mean if we all saw the issues this team had in 4th quarters because Kenny didn't have sets to go to, I'm sure Kyrie and KD did too. The "someone stand at the top, call for a pick with 7 seconds left, hope the pick works" offense will never be successful for a team with title ambitions, and it cost us countless games over the past 2-3 seasons.

As far as DJ, I think he should've been starting anyway. From January on he was our best center. Allen had plenty of chances to earn that spot and he hadn't taken them. If he isn't traded he's still going to see plenty of time next season, but lets not pretend we all haven't been disappointed with JA this year not taking a leap.

Or the other famous play of "we're up by 10 with 4 mins to go..lets just dribble the air out of the ball, and heave up a contested shot hoping we can get stops and run the clock out"

Allen can go if we make a trade imo..he has good game but he still has work to do and i dont know if i want to pay him big money after next season.

shyt I forgot that part :russ: We've probably lost 20 games in 3 seasons where we were up 10 with under 5 minutes left, and you couldn't tell the difference in the games because they all played out the same way.

Allen seems like a lock to go, even though I like him and wanted him to be the guy, he's just not made the strides yet. And then Claxton as the backup 5 who offers a totally different game than DJ, if he develops that corner 3 he would get all those wide open Draymond looks.

He's going to be traded so it doesn't matter too much, but in the middle of his softness JA took steps offensively. Players progress on their own pace, remember JA is still technically college aged. He's only 22. Way way too soon to say what he's going to be, except that he's soft. He's always going to be that but he has the ceiling of a solid starter and projects as overall better than DJ going forward in the future.

Completely disagree with everything else but opinions and all that. DJ's better defensively but JA fits the team so much better on offense I'd much rather eat the points JA gives up in return. But again, it doesn't matter since he'll be gone.

The most interesting news has been that we have "enough" and it depends on Beal. That's encouraging at least, especially if KD/Kyrie's in his ear.
