90's might be the best decade but let's not act like the 2000's was full chumps.

Lyrically, there's some interesting match ups/comparisons that could be made.

1998 Big Pun vs 2005 Beanie Sigel :dwillhuh:

1997 Common vs 2007 Blu :jbhmm:
1996 Jay-Z vs 2006 Lupe :ohhh:

1997 Mase vs Fabolous :pachaha:

Big L vs 2004 Lloyd Banks :leon:
Fab is a 90s rapper. He just blew up in the 2000s. And Big L is better than 2004 Lloyd Banks. 96 Jay is better than 06 Lupe off breath control and delivery alone. Big Pun is a better pure spitter than Beans.

All them nikkas he named is nice. But for most of the list. The 90's rapper is better.
Of course. But the 2000s wasn't all Laffy Taffy like I was trying to make it seem in my post :lolbron:

Early 2000s had a bunch of dope nikkas. But if u actually look at the comparison of rappers the shyt is laughable. Like Banks said. Punchlines n shyt is cool. But I would rather have lyrics nikkas could tattoo on they arms. nikkas still quoting and biting 90s rappers lyrics till this day.

A bunch of 90s nikkas in The Lox. Lol.

if the lox are '90s, then jay-z is '80s.

which reminds me of how jaz-o had jay running behind chris & freeway but that's another topic.

who didn't he duck?

dblock
camron
major figgas
beanie siegal

I prolly forgot a couple.
he even was nervous about 50 cent.

but he was quick to go at nas & prodigy.
You're forgetting that he got annihilated by Nas before he ducked any of those other rappers.
His confidence was shattered.

Pure spitting? I might have to go 2000's. In a freestyle cypher setting you got Fabolous, Jadakiss, Joe Buddens, Cam'ron, Lil Wayne, Lloyd Banks, Pusha T, Beanie Sigel, Styles P, Cassidy, J.R. Writer, etc.
Fab is a 90s rapper. He just blew up in the 2000s. And Big L is better than 2004 Lloyd Banks. 96 Jay is better than 06 Lupe off breath control and delivery alone. Big Pun is a better pure spitter than Beans.
Why is Fab a 90's rapper? :francis:

Dude was a teenager for most of the 90's came out on Clue tapes in the late 90's and dropped his debut in '01. The L.O.X., Cam'ron, Fabolous, etc. are '00's rappers that's when most of their cultural relevance came and when they were at their hottest.

Stillmatic freestyle, Destroy and Rebuild and Last Real nikka Alive>>>>>fukk outta here. Lol.
Also. The 2000s would only be considered better spitters if u like a "CERTAIN" kind of rhymes. And most of the nicest nikkas makin noise in the 2000's came from and/or was students of the 90s anyway.

that stillmatic freestyle was ALRIGHT. state property ate the f*ck out of that lil diss with ease. hes lucky their chit was brushed under the rug, and it didn't stray away from nas vs jay.

"destroy & rebuild" was okay. a 2000s spitter would've ate it.

I don't even remember the last one. so much for that. lol.

2000s spitters could do the '90s chit too. a prime example is Cassidy. he can rippity-rap you to death for 15 minutes without any punchlines.

who cares if theyre students from the '90s? the '90s guys were students of the '80s and yall could give a rats ass about them.

@ the bolded: JAY IS KNOWN for ducking people his whole career breh. all the way back to his cipher days. I'm seriously not gonna get into a back-n-forth argument about that. in 2016 breh. it should be on file already

edit: @letti cook i forgot the 50 cent part. that was a one-off line he debuted at summer jam or something when 50 was still blackballed. he wouldn't have done that once 50 cent as on TV. and this is just 50 cent we're talking about. hes only won 1 or 2 battles out of like 10.

as for the other stuff:

when did those acts have their run? in the 2000s.
it works both ways. most 2010s rappers started out in the 2000s, but theyre more synonymous with now.

i think i was in kindergarten when jay was let down on a rope in "hawaiin sophie". i could be wrong. either way, i don't consider jay an '80s rapper but if we're just basing stuff off of when people stepped on the scene, that guys has been AROUND.

Woulda coulda shoulda. Where's his classic album with wall to wall elite rhyming?

i could say the same about most super-lyrical '90s rappers.

and wait, are you denying that Cassidy cant rip multiple styles from different eras?

Son Fab was born in 1977. He was 20 by the time 97 hit. He's only a couple years younger than Mobb Deep. I've heard Fabolous Sport since like 97 but I will give u him since he dropped in 01. The LOX are not 2000s rappers no matter how much u try to force that bullshyt. They had 2 joints by the time 2000 even hit. They had hit songs by the time 2000 even hit. Same with Cam. U can't just erase his whole COTC history and his first and second album cause u feel like it. Lil Wayne? 90's. Pusha T I guess is 2000s even tho him and his brother old as fukk and had the group and been tryna pop since the mid 90s.
