New Jack wasn’t technically proficient, but he could work with the best of him.

That was his problem, he was too good at his gimmick and his reputation would precede him, so his opponents would no sell or actually hit him. And once you start doing that, then you’re just fighting a cokehead with a staple gun

Gypsy Joe no sold and head butted him, mass transit kid asked for color (still pretty fukked up), and the Vic guy no sold a high bump which ended up blinding new jack.
