Garfield and Stone was the BEST comic book movie relationship I've ever seen portrayed on the big screen

I was :mjcry: when they killed her off in the 2nd movie. Even though I know how Gwen dies in the comics, I was sittin there like :lupe: "directors don't do this!" :damn::damn::damn:
That thud of her head :damn:

ASM 2 had its faults but that relationship carried the film(s )

I bought into that relationship more than any other shoe horned into a cbm. It felt real, because it was a real couple.

The new spider man films will be hard pressed to top that relationship.

Yup. Should've stretched it to the third movie but then thats not how you want to end your third movie if its a trilogy either. Of course you could not have done the story

I mean in theory, he's right. Diana lived through WW2, Vietnam, Desert Storm, 9/11, Civil Rights movement, etc etc etc. That's a lot of violence and man turning against man and a lot of war. If he's truly the cause then he must still be alive somewhere
That and the gods normally reincarnate plus they followed the New 52 so I don't believe this is the last we have seen of them.

Yea but I thot it was hinted that men became corruptible on their own by their own selfish n evil desires. Ares talks bout this when trying to turn her, he simply does some minor influences but it's all them (Trevor always mentions human nature as well). Plus only a God can kill a god I'm sure everyone who talked bout the godslayer wldnt was confident it wld kill ares

:hhh:

My theater went dead silent when her head hit. The feels was strong that night :mjcry:

Besides Jamie Fox acting before his transformation, I don't get all the negative criticism for the film.

It's not made by Disney.

Just imagine the backlash sony would have received if they cast this guy
tony-revolori-spider-man-homecoming.jpg
as flash Thompson :mjlol:

Disney stans would be foaming at the lips with anger.

i wish my homeboy was on this forum cuz man that shyt was too funny. Most of my audience was just out of it by the end of that flick. Once the couple in front of me was like "COME ON :why:" during the rhino part at the end i knew i wasnt the only one not feeling it.

they pretty much give all the reasons its a no more than mediocre film. I dont see how anyone could like it more than any of the movies from the original trilogy

Martin thinks spider man 3 is better than spider man 2 who gives a fukk about his reasons :mjlol:

Spider man 2 is a top 5 comic book film of all time and spider man 3 is a bottom 5 comic book film of all time right there with x men origins.

Both asm 1 and 2 are way better than spider man 3 it's not even a debate.

Pretty crazy that the first post I see after getting back is one talking about the Gwen/Peter (:troll:)relationship in Amazing Spider-Man, since that is exactly what I planning to write about:russ:

Everyone has pretty much discussed most of my thoughts, both positive and negative about the film, so I'll leave that alone, but I thought the Diana/Steve relationship in Wonder Woman was fantastic. Their chemistry was everything it needed to be for this film to work on the level it shot for.

I usually do not enjoy relationship shyt or romantic subplots in comic book movies, they are almost always what I list as a "con" when I break down what I liked and didn't. But I'm really glad to be surprised here.

Their relationship was the hook to hang Diana's entire arc on. If that chemistry wasn't there, then the climax just wouldn't have worked - almost Martha levels awul. But while the ending was a little cheesy, maybe even a little too on the nose, where it mattered most was that it felt earned because I bought their friendship, I bought their argument, and I bought their final moments. I'm even more positive on some parts of BvS because of it.

So yeah, I know the majority of fans prefer the Amazing Spider-Man romance and how it related to Peter as a character, but I think I was more charmed by Diana/Steve than any other coupling in the comic book film universe (though Deadpool also surprised the hell out of me in that department).
