People are also underestimating just how excited women are for this film. I think this is going to be one of those films that does WAY better than people are expecting.
Lately the people that do box office estimates have been WAY off when it comes to predicting how well films with female leads or leads that are people of color will do. Whatever their method is they're doing a poor job of predicting what movie goers that aren't white men will like.

I didn't get a Justice League trailer which was weird to me.
Movie was cool. Gal is a good WW.
CGI was shytty at times and the lasso looked terrible at all times but I did like the way she used it in combat. That 300 slo-mo stuff did get tiring after a while.
Does anyone want to write a review on the movie for my site?
How many marvel films you seen in theatres? Then you supporting him clown.who support perlmutter not me
I've seen reviews saying that she should lead the league and have everything revolve around her like Tony in the MCU based off her performances in the movie
Most superhero movie lovers would have some version of Logan, TDK, Winter Soldier, Avengers and first class/DOFP as their top 5 if WW (not that I have seen it) is in your top 5 what is your top 5
Fam. Come on. It's a fukking superhero movie about a lady who uses her wrists to deflect bullets. This is NOT Higher Learning. Can we just enjoy the movie and not make this thread about Israel. Please.
...Anyways, this definitely falls somewhere in my top 5 superhero films. Great dialogue, pacing, action sequences are very well shot and clearly follow the blueprint Zach Snyder laid out in the warehouse fight Batman had in BvS (the high point of that movie).
This movie struck the balance between light and dark that DC needs to hit going forward. Still more serious than what we see in the MCU, but not to point where you won't smile for 2.5 hours. Villains are solid, or at least better than Lex and Doomsday. Not as good as Zod. Gal Gadot is fine. Go support this one.
DC stans bytch about Marvel having crap villains but I bet they won't bring it up with with these generic ass villains in WW

there are a lot of roles one can take in the military where they never hold a gun or see any a actionFrom her Interview with ET , Gal Gadot was preparing for this role. She served in the Israeli military prior to acting
Just got done.
So,it was....decent.
It was pretty much exactly what I figured it would be. A perfunctory if formulaic origin story that follows the usual comic book film skips and beats.
It's not great, and the praise of it being up there with the genres best is laughable.
It's just inoffensive and there. People that love that marvel mediocrity formula will have no reason not to love this.
Personally, I value ambition over all else. Always have, from music to movies. I can forgive flaws when something is aiming for something different.
This is just a generic crowd pleaser and there's nothing really wrong with that I guess, even expected when it comes to origin films like this.
On the positive side Gal Gadot is perfect. She embodies the role and completely owns it. I suspect we can finally have people shut the fukk up about her acting after this because this is definitely a career defining/character defining performance. She's charming, charismatic, and when the times come for it she carries the heavier moments.
One thing that did surprise me is the film IS heavier/darker than you'd expect. It actually works in nice contrast to Diana as the beacon of hope.
The action is great(for the most part),and snyder's influence is all over it as expected. In particular the "no man's land" scene will go down as an iconic scene.
The two biggest problems of the film are the villains and the final act.
For a truly great/classic cbm you have to have top notch villains. These ones are forgettable at best. They aren't offensively bad like enchantress but they're just there, little more than plot devices. Like zemo in civil war.
Which leads into the final act and what's also becoming very fukking tiring in the genre. The need to have a big, climatic cgi battle. It just feels at odds with the rest of the film. It's just boring and so unnecessary. I literally rolled my eyes. Ares design is cool but that's all the positives I can say. He's hammy as fukk.
The humour isn't over bearing and feels natural. They aren't pounding you over the head with stupid quips to make sure you know you're supposed to be having fun.
All in all, I liked it,didn't love it. It's not a film I'm going to watch many times.
For many this will be there favorite DCEU film, for me it's better than suicide squad.
6.5/10
One other thought I had outside my review is I really, really hope WB takes the RIGHT lesson from this.
Patty jenkins got to make her film. That's the lesson here. Leave the film makers be. Stay the fukk out of the editing. If a movie has to be 3 hours long then let it be. Let the movies stands on the backs of the film makers, not a focus group.
Let Matt reeves and wan make the film's they want to make.
The wrong lesson would be to copy/paste the formula of this film. Comic book films are already becoming far too stale and repetitive. We need unique voices.
The villains weren't given any real time. They just kind of pop up and come and go. The dialogue especially was very hammy.please explain this...i'm seeing people talk shyt about the villains and i dont get it...the 3 in here were villains cause they wanted to be villains, not cause something happened to them, circumstances, etc. like zemo....which is what you want a villain to be....i want a villain that just enjoys being a villain, which the 3 in here did.....ex: dr poison was fukking crazy and just liked doing fukked up shyt just cause...prime example of that was her reaction when talking with pine about 'fire burning everything down to ash'?.....she was loving that talk cause she was fukking crazy.....
you can, i have no reason to lie...went to that theater chain's website to look for imax showings of this, and the majority of their theaters around me arent showing it in imax, which is bullshyt....will look again today since the movie officially opens up, maybe some of them changed it...
as for the face: yea, chris pine is a better actor than gal, and it shows, but that doesnt mean she was horrible....like i said: she makes a great diana, and an ok ww....reason she's an ok ww to me is cause my only complaint about her has been and continues to be i think she's too small...you can even tell she's gained weight, but i still think she's too small physically to be ww....but that's just a personal gripe and is the reason i knock her as ww...if i ignored that, she's better than ok...she'd be a good ww cause she pulls off the action scenes very well...
