Len Bias? The Knicks, the Giants...it was massive in the NFL, Mets, Rockers & R&B singers, wrestlers, entire cast of SNL, actors/Hollywood (especially child stars), the comedians...all had a number of known cokeheads. You'd see random pictures of folk and assume that everyone else in the pic was into it as well. Plus, I always heard the phrase "wild parties" or "likes to party".

why would they do that? nothing special about the shaq and kobe years besides snitching and infidelity. They have a truly polarizing story with the magic HIV thing and all the party stories. The lakers as a whole was interesting from ownership to players. Plus the up tempo playstyle was something new.
