DUBAI (Reuters) - Iran will punish Americans wherever they are within reach of the Islamic Republic in retaliation for the killing of miliary commander Qassem Soleimani, Tasnim news agency quoted a senior Revolutionary Guards commander as saying.

General Gholamali Abuhamzeh, the commander of the Guards in the southern province of Kerman, raised the prospect of possible attacks on ships in the Gulf.

Iran reserved the right to take revenge against the United States for the death of Soleimani, he said in comments made late on Friday and reported on Saturday by Tasnim.

“The Strait of Hormuz is a vital point for the West and a large number of American destroyers and warships cross there ... vital American targets in the region have been identified by Iran since long time ago ... some 35 U.S. targets in the region as well as Tel Aviv are within our reach,” he said.

Incorrectly classifying everyone as a warmonger tends to blur lines especially when the parties in question have very different goals and ambitions.

It's a dishonest framing of an argument meant to lump everyone who isn't anti-war as all more of the the same.

You're aware of this. And you know that's why you do it.

You're playing like you don't know the entire history of America. What difference have you seen in the parties when it comes to going to war? Remind me which party got us into damn near every war in the 20th century. Who was president when we pulled off the 1953 coup in Iran in the first place? When we went in to Korea? Who was president when we started sending troops to Vietnam? Who was president when we started escalating Vietnam? Who was the president who started bombing Cambodia and Laos as well?

And if you really think Vietnam era is irrelevant, then remind me again which Secretary of State was regularly looking for the advice of HENRY fukking KISSINGER during her term in office? I'll give you a little clue, it's the same SecState who was central in the invasion of Libya, pushed for the Afghan surge, and who thought that Obama and his robot killer planes committing acts of war terrorizing people in 17 different countries were too dovish because he wouldn't commit to large-scale arming and training of Syrian rebels.

The Ayatollah trust him to form political alliances as well. If someone, God forbid, bombed General Mattis, you wouldn't have the same response.

I find the characterization of his role misleading. He wasn’t the Minister of Defence ( Iran has one), he was a commander of a paramilitary force that operated across the region and he very publicly promoted his commanding role. Look how many photos he’s taken from the front in Syria and in Iraq. The more compelling legal argument to me points to the declaration of war ( or lack thereof)

Nuseibeh is a paid hack so I would take that claim with a huge grain of salt. The drone almost certainly came from Udeid though so Qatar would have a reason to want to calm them down regardless.

Bingo. Regaradless of the fact he lived by the sword and died by it, it was undeclared and no one was briefed. This adds to the case for impeachement.
