This has been Iran’s Trump card(:troll:)
All iran has to do is hit Saudi/Qatar/UAE oil fields and terminals and oil will start shooting upwards of $150-$300 a barrel. Not only that they would also attack Gulf countries desalination plants and electrical grid plunging these countries into chaos to permanently put oil in the region offline.

All major shipping insurers will stop insuring any tanker for fear of having to pay HUGE sums of money if they are target in tanker wars.

All of sudden the world starts plunging into a global economic recession like 2008 all over again.

The Armaco attack was designed as a little taste and was purposely calculated to not cost long lasting economic damage to Saudi oil production.

But in war Iran will go for the jugular. So quite frankly Iran doesn’t need to win a SINGLE militarily battle to force the world to its economic knees.

The only reason Iran has not done this yet is because this option hurts China as well. No country will be spared from the effects of oil at $200-$300 a barrel.

Trump would get blamed for the global recession. At home he would be done. He would lose in November big time. You will see how much the country loves Trump when they are paying $12-15 a gallon to fill up their car.

Russians have been in Syria for 50 years. Nothing is changing there. They have had inroads with Baghdad.

Sure, but during the height of the Civil War though Soleimani helped bring them in, Assad wanted the Russians to lessen is dependence on IRGC/Hezbollah for help. Not sure if Iranian influence would wane but with Syria calming down and ISIS in tatters, I am not sure how the Russians feel about Iran's regional role.

Yeah, the Russians were needed for Assad's survival. Soleimani and the Iranians were able to keep Assad's head above water for 2-3 years.

The Russians and Iranians have differences. The Iranians want to confront the Israelis via Hezbollah. The Russians have told the Iranians we can't have that shyt and then Putin has had numerous meetings with Netanyahu to keep things from spiraling out.

The Russians also aren't wedded to Assad. Assad also was backed by the West when he was a 'young reformer' and his wife is British born and was on magazines and shid at the beginning of this decade. John Kerry and his wife went to Damascus a decade ago to have dinner with them. I'm sure the the Russians would rather have another Syrian strong man in place after an election who isn't an international pariah so that Syria can rebuild and have sanctions relieved. It's why the Russians have segments of the opposition and the regime meeting in Kazakhstan with the Astana process headed up by them, Turkey and Iran. But the Iranians are wedded to Assad because Hafez in the 80s provided support to Tehran during the Iraq-Iran War when Iran was basically on its own against the Saddam regime which was backed by the USA.

I know all that. You still had no right to assassinate him. Period.

Why the fukk haven't you assassinated Russian targets after all the shyt they did in the US elections and around the world to undermine US influence.

This was the move of a bully pushing a button he felt safe to push, cause the little country won't fire back(we hope). Iran being a bully in the region doesn't change the utter stupidity of the US decision.

Lots of other nations antagonised Trump. North Korea got visits and flowers.

The US could have used the CIA to get at Iran the same way, they choose a public and unilateral assassination. You don't get to gloss over that.
The UK and France bear slightly more responsibility for the chaos in the Middle East than the US. The British and French carved up the Middle East after the end of WWI and did not pay attention to the ethnic, religious and cultural differences within the region. They also turned their backs on the Hashmites (Sharif bin Ali) and that allowed the Sauds to rise to power and create Saudi Arabia.

No matter what the U.S. does in the Middle East, the chaos in the region will always link back to the Brits & French.
