I'm no lawyer so I can't speak on the legal basis :hubie:, but if that's true there's no reason for them not to complete the trilogy and add that 3rd article of impeachment.

Not that it would change the outcome, but I think I'd enjoy watching GOP Senators being constantly forced to defend this Iran shyt. :ehh:

Nothing as spectacular as people are expecting will happen.

This.

Iran got away with stuff before because they were testing their limits and seeing how much they can get away with. Everyone’s on alert now and any action by Iran will be retaliated against. Anything not “within bounds” will be met with exponentially worse retaliation, which they’re going to avoid at all costs, imo.

I merely pointed out that I didn't make up these takes of popular figures on the left being accelerationist as evidence that they aren't some small irrelevant contingent of the American left.

I used the quoted example by you to show that you yourself have attacked this same aspect of the left.

Everyone y’all keep bringing up are grifters And then you conveniently lump “Bernie and the rest of the left; “99% of the left”; etc in.
:skip:

That’s why I led with “are you talking about Dore?” Because he isn’t representative of leftist thought, he is a comedian grifter and then y’all proceeded to bring up him, Mate, Tracey, Greenwald. Just like I thought you would to try and mischaracterize the rest of the left.

irans leadership is scared. they have families. Children, grandchildren. Anyone of them is a potential target if they leave the country, even with a foreign invite.

The person who would organize a retaliation is dead.

They are rational and prioritize regime preservation. Avenging Suleimani's death is not worth risking an attack at home. There will be a response likely through proxies, but we are way off from a global crisis or war IMO. More interesting is seeing what happens next in domestic Iraqi politics.

A much larger country with unlimited resources choosing to attack a diplomatic head of state in a smaller country that has been manipulated by that larger country for years and we want to discuss what is right and fair?

Sorry, we passed that a long time ago.

I am not saying America shouldn't protect its citizens. It is your inherent right. But let's not throw stones and hide hands.

That's one of the reasons things never get fixed. Big nations do the same shyt over and over, create a crisis then go, "well we are here now, no sense looking back"

It's bullshyt and it needs to end.
Soleimani was not a diplomat, he was a soldier.

Iran needs to get out of Iraq now. The next actions will be at home and not in the gulf

No way they leave. The one place where they've had a clear strategic victory over the U.S. at relatively limited cost is Iraq post-war.

Their influence has come under heavy pressure domestically as of late with the protest movement, but they may be able to use this attack to entrench their role. If they manage to get the Americans out of Iraq, they would probably see this as a victory.

Imo, if the US hits Tehran and the mountains, it won't matter. Trump has made it clear the next move will be in Iran. I don't disagree with you, but they need to focus on the homeland. Iraq should not be worth iranians lives.
