Jones/Gus was a damn good fight. I had Jones winning 3-2. (Jones won 2, 4, & 5). For anyone who scored round 4 for Gus, you need to stop watching UFC (and boxing) immediately. Gus was winning the first 1:00 to 1:30, but from the spinning elbow on in that round, Jones took over. Jones needs to learn how to box though, cause he is pretty bad with the hands considering his long reach.

Regardless, Gus showed he belonged tonight, and deserves an immediate rematch. Glover and everyone else needs to fall back for a little while.

Bones' face was busted up so those punches were clearly landing, Rogan really didn't need to oversell what was already visual to the audience.
By face you mean his lips and a cut off a graze. Gus has a good jab and thats what busted Jones mouth up. His eye isnt lumped, his nose isnt broke and his cheeks are fine. He has a cut and swollen lips. Damage overrated .

I didnt feel Jones really got blasted with 1 punch in that fight.

exact point i keep sayin. me n my boys arguing they saying Gus got jobbed, and im like r u guys watchin da same fight. Im not even a Jones supporter, but really he never got knocked down, wobbled or stunned once by Gus. did he get cut open, yeah sure but you can't control your skin. Never in this fight did Jones look close to being down, or out or anything.

Big whoop Gus got 1 takedown, after that he got stuffed. I'm tired of ppl taklin about TDD and how many takedowns a guy got, none of that matters if you don't hurt da guy after.u take em down good, go finish em with that position now. Oh u stuffed a guy, good, now to knock em out since u kept it on your fight. Jones did that swinging elbow 5 times and everytime i screamed watch gus he gettin closer, the 6th time he got em.

Good entertaining fight for a change outta Jones. No job, no rip off just a good ol close fight.

Exactly.

Idiots on here listening to the stupid commentating of Joe Rogan.

He kept saying Jones was getting hit, when it was clear that those Gus punches wasn't landing. Dude have became the Jim Lampley of MMA.
So the swollen eyes and bloody lip must've happened all by itself right?

I need them gifs of Gus running and stumbling away like he had brain damage. In the 5th round there was a moment where it looked like Gus just wanted to collapse and tap on the mat from exhaustion. That aint no champ to me. He quit physically and mentally in the end. Jones even had to do his hands like *come on* like :wtf: keep goin, practically motivating this clown to keep fighting. Jones showed why hes the champ. Being able to compete, doesnt mean you won..

Im being realistic. He probably needs some stiches for that grazed cut and some ice for that mouth. His face and orbital area are not swole like that but his lips are. U think thats demolishing, aight.

Neither does hurting a guy in one round.
So in your opinion Gus favorably won the first 3 rounds because he favorably lost the last 2. He was hurt going into the 5th and definately hurt throughout the 5th looking like he wanted to quit.

Jones legacy can not be tarnished with your words. He has fought a lot of legit guys. If mayweather trained with phil davis hed still get destroyed because he just doesnt have enough takedown defense/wrestling to compete with wrestlers who are focused on only taking him down. I know you like to make it seem like any boxer who boxed his whole life can just train wrestling for a few months and destroy the entire mma circuit but you really underestimate these guys and definately need more knowledge as it concerns fighting. Gus has also won grappling tournaments where there are real killers man. Thats not something you can just pick up at mcdonalds in a few months These guys are striking and grappling on a daily basis for years of their lives. I cant ask you to have more understanding because i guess you feel boxers are true fighters, but, MMA is a different animal with less rules to protect boxers from the natural flow of a fight.

When it comes to BJJ you have a point about grappling, what I'm talking about is wrestling
but anyways, Jon Jones was caught by Vitor and literally powered his way out of it with brute strength

its no guys in MMA that excel at MMA
as in being technical sound at all facets of the sport, so a boxer with the right trainers can easily adapt
he doesn't need to excel at grappling just needs to train on stopping the take downs and keeping the fight on its feet

look at Rampage, he isn't an elite BJJ, he ain't an elitle wrestler either even thought thats how he kinda started
his boxing is severely limited but he was knocking out top guys, he went his entire MMA career without being submitted, until he was overpowered and over matched
by the bigger stronger Jones, who was really just deboing dudes with brute strength

Its dudes in the hood with better hands than Jon Jones, they just don't know how to do armbars and triangle chokes, which is stuff that can be learned

But he didn't quit and Jones was just as tired as Gus was.
