That's because we all know what the GOP is. The Dems have so much potential but then fukk it all up. Ie: look at the stimulus. Have a chance to treat the GOP like they do the Dems and they . Then they when they lose reelection. The Republican party should be dead from what happened on 1/6. Yet Hawley, Cruz, etc are still in office pulling the same BS. Whats the point of laws if everyone is not held accountable for their actions?

"Should be" ain't IS. There's an immovable block of voters who will never abandon them and the plain reality is also that the bloc of voters who can be lured away or swing want to mostly forget about Trump at this point. The Dems absolutely do want to nail him and those responsible but politically you pass a point of diminishing returns fast when it comes to congress. Come 2022/4, "how was the 2nd impeachment trial conducted" is gonna rank real fukkin low in people's priorities.

That said, Dems should absolutely be as relentless as they can to help draw contrasts and punish Trump's goons in years to come, which is not only right but might benefit them as long as they don't let a narrative build they aren't getting priorities straight.
