No you sound dense. You don't seem to understand that in general the public doesn't like political fighting and especially doesn't like the impeachment process. If there was a justifiable reason for doing so it would be acceptable but you're talking about holding a political battle simply to hold one.

How are you gonna get the public to be behind holding a trial that's point is to remove a person from office that they already voted out of office and by that time won't be in office anyway?

The majority of independents and the overwhelming majority of republicans didn't support the last impeachment. You're going to get even less support with one for a person that isn't even serving anymore. There's better shyt to spend political capital on than this.

His supporters loved that. The general public didn't. Trump never in his entire presidency had a positive approval rating. Hell he never even got to 49% until COVID first broke out and that was the rally around him. It didn't last long. He never reached 50% at all.

this is really nice but why is he giving interviews instead of..... NOT doing so - because shyt like this should be tied directly to numerous federal investigations :mjlol:

the fact he was even allowed to resign at all is fukking lunacy
No matter what, he's still at fault, because he didn't tell anyone this was going on

Why not tell Pelosi or McConnell, hey, im trying to get you guys more security, but these ppl is bullshytting

You're not understanding how absolutely ridiculous that the acting chief is allowed to resign and give interviews while pointing fingers.

Which agency is heading up this entire investigation, who is in charge, and why is Sund speaking to some WP reporter instead of going over his statements in preparation for a congressional hearing :unimpressed:

Democracy was never intended to be mindful of people's feelings.

Congress is in place to protect the Republic/Democracy and not how Wendy or Jimmy feels about the process.

It won’t get as much coverage if it’s after he leaves so I doubt it will be as divisive. McConnell just doesn’t want the vote in general but definitely not the coverage of removing him.

Link you posted shows support for impeachment from 10/1/19-2/13/20. The case for impeachment is much stronger now.
Looking at more recent polls, you see a higher support %
This poll from yesterday shows a higher support % (https://www.ipsos.com/sites/default...line_abc_ipsos_poll_january_10_2021_final.pdf)
We've also seen Republican senators take stronger stances against him this time.

There's also more benefits like this:
