They need to do a different time period. Do old England before fingerprints, computers, etc. Let the fog and overall gloom of London be the backdrop.
Why even call that "True Detective", though?
IMO each season should be at least as connected to each other as each season of Fargo, i.e. at least at an "easter egg" level.
These are the thoughts of HBO and HBO Max Chief Content Officer Casey Bloys.
Deadline reported last year that HBO was looking for new voices to help bring back True Detective, which was created and written by Nic Pizzolatto and ran for three seasons between 2014-2019.
We understand that the network has been in talks with writers and producers, and Bloys is hopeful. “There’s something in the True Detective area, there’s things we’re feeling good about. I would say stay tuned on that one,” he said.
The actors matter more than the writers. Matt and Woody carried season 1. Mahershala and Dorff carried season 3. Season 2 was bad cause Colin and Vince don't have acting chops like that.
Id have 3 at a solid 9 but thats splitting hairs….season 1 is one of the goat tv seasons ever thoSeason 2 writing was just ass. Colin did fine and Vince actually did a good job even though everyone expected him to be ass.
Szn 1- 10/10
Szn 2- 7/10
Szn 3- 8.5/10
Nah, season 2 was a great cast. Trash writing destroyed that season. The actors matter more than the writers. Matt and Woody carried season 1. Mahershala and Dorff carried season 3. Season 2 was bad cause Colin and Vince don't have acting chops like that.
