Just got back from watching this and it was amazing. Good god man we don’t deserve Tom Cruise. Those scenes were straight up breathtaking. Him going through that valley and the way he was hitting those corners had me clinching my seat. Felt like you were in the cockpit with him. Those dogfight scenes we’re insane.

When that enemy plane hit the breaks and flew past him sideways..
Even he said WTF. The story was great and it hit pretty much all the notes. I kind of got choked up when Iceman passed and when those old scenes were being shown of Goose. Man you have no idea how many times I’ve watched Top Gun growing up. That theme hit in the opening and I was locked in. Amazing film and my favorite of the year.

Real shyt when he did the run through...hitting the corners, breathing hard like he was flying that shyt...

Honestly one of the best sequels I’ve ever seen. Probably the best sequel that took over 10 years between movies.

I’m anti-war, but I’ve had family that’s been in the military and I love fighter jets and the original Top Gun. I personally have kept my opinion that Tom Cruise and Denzel Washington have been my favorite actors the last two decades.

Maverick taking down those gen 5’s with an F-14 is not a stretch by any means.

There’s a youtuber who’s a former F-22 Raptor pilot that said if the media ever got word around about the “graveyard” of F-22’s and other modern fighters that have been shot down/lost to older, weaker fighter jets during training sessions taxpayers would be demanding money back.

“Engineers don’t win dog fights, fighter pilots do.”

Also why if you’re in an F-14 and you manage to spot an F-22 in the field you best believe when you go to engage it you’ll have the full fleet of F-22’s and every other modern fighter in the area on your ass too. They’re not going to leave it up to tech advantages and fair ones because it’s not a guaranteed win and they won’t risk a brother/sister not coming home.

Yeah that sounds about right. I'm in DC and it costs around that much. Thats why i joined the AMC Stubs A-List program. 3 movies a week, any screen. Costs about $25 a month, but thats just one movie at IMAX, so it really does pay for itself.

After going back to watch the original Top Gun (never saw it), they really did a good job picking Goose's son. Rooster really look like he could be his kid.

Just came back from it.. Great movie. The flying and action scenes were all so legit. Loved the story and was only really kinda worried once...

When Maverick got shot down and Rooster did also.. thought it was about to be some corny Behind Enemy Lines thing where they gotta shoot their way out or get swapped as hostages or something

Treated Iceman well.. had a cool test pilot sequence in the beginning.. Cruise really is that dude

Probably give it a solid 9-9.5/10

Alright a few things

That was by far the best use of planes in any movie in history, bar none, an absolute achievement

The score, some how is better than the og…the music choices are less iconic but the actual use of the top gun GONG and the score and SILENCE during tense sense was flawless.

This is BETTER than top gun. It is easily a better movie than the original movie.

the “WHY ARE YOU DEAD??” … “DONT TELL ME. TELL THAT TO THEIR FAMILIES AT THEIR FUNERAL”. training montage and sequence was fukkin electric. He was really making those cadets take this shyt serious as fukk. No more games. Get better or die.
I want to go see it again, today. The mission itself was incredible…the opening mach 10 sequence was mindblowing…

This is legitimately an A+. It might crack the 100 all time list for me. Maverick is a GOAT character in movie history.

What was cool was seeing them talk about ego for pilots and you can see how so many of these guys are real humble and down to earth.

Like when they asked if unmanned fighters would be the future and fighter pilots would be a thing of the past and they pretty much said "Not this generation because it's confirmed the 6th gens are manned, but wouldn't be surprised if the generation afterwards was 100% unmanned."

Just keep it real honest and humble which I guess you gotta be to be in the profession.
