Montreal only paid off 1976 within the last decade or so.

Athens/Greece which was already having financial difficulty at the time and could of done with the Olympic spending to be be made of better use for the country as a whole has never recovered. Add on top the various financial crisis since then. Greece is totally phucked.

Never understood why all countries couldn’t come together and build a permanent Olympic venue on some island for the summer games and a mountain resort for winter games with all countries contributing for maintenance. This building all new venues in cities for basically one time use is a fukin waste of money that could be used for its people..

the boring 100m race yesterday had a guy run 9.80 (the fastest any gold medal winner not name bolt has won), silver went to a guy who ran 9.84 (the second fastest time ever for a silver medal)
