It's not fake concern. It's legit criticism. Cities going into huge debt is a big reason why the IOC has changed the Olympic bidding process.

Now, the IOC prioritizes bids that have most if not all of the venues already built. Also, there has to be a plan for most of the venues to have the capability to be used by the local public after the Olympics.

I don't really look at WRS for the 5k and 10k, if the race is slow no need to extol your energy. You run with the group at top and make your move the final two laps. Plus like a lot of these long distance events sometimes have pacers where guys/girls sacrifice and run at a specific pace to set the race.
