If the world was a flat disk that was rotating, there would never truly be a night. If anything night time would look like sunset hours and there would always be enough ambient light to keep from going into darkness. Like it does now because the planet is round sections will always rotate out of the direct light of the sun. But some people just want to be willfully stupid but think their intelligence is so profound.
Even if the sun was a "spotlight", it should be visible with a strong enough telescope in the middle of the night according to the standard flat earth model....
