Settle down . That stuff won't happen

The things that have been discussed as far as I see have already happened or Won't even happen since the show went another way .

doesn't matter, there's a comic thread for a reason. this thread is for discussing the television show, and the show only. if people want to discuss how the comics and the show differ then they should be using the comic thread. just because the show has currently went another way from the comics doesnt mean they wont use a previous comic plot in the future, in which case there could be some dry spoiling going on in here.

also, some of us havent read the comics and might be planning to read them eventually and you guys are flat out spoiling them for us.

so please, just use the comic thread for discussing anything about the comics. don't just have an discussion about the comics in spoiler tags and think thats cool

thats the battle the network and prodcuers are probably havin though. do they want the show to be fast paced like a homeland or tru blood style show. or do they want it slow n developing like the wire or soprano's.

my guess is this is kirkmans creation, its his baby. doin a comic kirkmans ability to develop deep wit the characters is limited. so maybe kirkman is really seein this show as a chance for him to really show how diverse each character is. and maybe he sees da show bein made up of each character gettin an episode or back story to them, and then 1nce every couple shows theres a battle or attack with everybody to advance the main plot.

who knows, but clearly this show has changed directions, and paced and its obvious its due to the changes goin on behind the scenes.

Making the show fast paced made it a must-see show, especially since the writing and acting is not quite up to par of the great character driven shows. Trying to slow it down again means they need to step it up. Toss out a lot of characters or just create new ones like Daryl. Also, fast paced doesn't have to mean zombie herds every episode.

Blowing through the source material is irrelevant since they can deviate from it completely at anytime. There are plenty of shows like Dexter that started with source material but proved they didn't need it anymore after a couple seasons.

Shows like Breaking Bad have a edge-of-seat tension, great characters, great writing, great acting and cliffhangers all without a single zombie or even source material.

If they keep the show entertaining while not feeling drawn out or character contradicting (like it has been), it could run for a long time.

not too much plot development this last episode. I still liked it. but I wish they would have explained how:

the governer got away from all those zombies after they surrounded him and he was out of ammunition

Your pretty much right , and to add on the Comic book writing of the walking dead isn't really that deep itself so trying to adapt it word for word would be bad without better actors . Shane , Darryl Rick Hershel Glenn were the best actors in season 2 and they weren't the ones doing most of the speechifying . Two of them shouldn't even have been on the show if they followed the source :deadrose: breaking bad and mad men make up for any of their deficits by the sheer charisma of the leads . Rick took alittle while to boss up
