Rooting for jk, will and Denzel. Low key I think they might give it to Garfield tho…
I hated Tick, Tick … Boom! and really thought that if the Academy wanted to give Andrew Garfield a nomination they should've done it for Best Supporting Actor because he was amazing as Jim Bakker in The Eyes of Tammy Faye.

I have a feeling Don't Look Up will win Best Picture, and if it does it'll be the worst BP winner since Crash.

Don't Look Up is not going to win breh

I think it's only there for name recognition from the masses.

Nevertheless, outside of Dennis getting screwed for Best Director the nods weren't egregious.

Hope Dune cleans up in all its categories.

Power Of The Dog has all but been anointed as BP. And it got nominated in All of the “required” fields that lead up to traditional BP wins PLUS swept the acting category (Jesse Plemons was literally on nobody’s radar for Supporting)

If Don’t Look Up wins over Power Of The Dog it would be akin to Green Book winning a few years ago. shyt would be WILD.

Really glad to see Belfast and Nightmare Alley got some love. I think The Harder They Fall should have been nominated for supporting actor/actress, set design, and costumes. The Oscars don't really like Netflix originals though, but they couldn't ignore Don't Look Up because of the white star power. It still won't win anything. I really hate that Encanto and Flee are competing against each other. Both of them are excellent but in completely different ways. Actually, the more I think about it, the more I think it's unfair to put Flee in this category because it's really a documentary, and it's not completely animated. I also hate that you are allowed to nominate a movie like Dune for this many awards and NOT nominate the director. It just seems like blatant and inequitable snubbing. Far from the Tree should have been nominated for Best Animated Short.

Power of the Dog personally for me was some mid. Story did nothing for me even though the acting was great and the cinematography was beautiful.
