Yaya is my man I hate that he had to be in the 2 most disappointing movies this year. That super digital version of him was scust too.

The first trailer made this movie look gorgeous. And as someone said the 2nd half looked like a perfume ad/end of vanilla sky.

That warehouse fight was pitiful too

Candyman was a success financially and critically, regardless of how it divided audiences.

I thought he was miscast and wasted here. He didn't feel like Morpheus and couldn't get Larry Fishbourne's cadence down. They really should have brought Laurence back tbh.

Well, it's been 60 years since Matrix 3 and the machines destroyed Zion during that time. They implied he died when all of that happened.

But again, it's been 60 years so even if that hadn't happened he probably would've died of old age by this point.
Nah breh. That's not what the movie said..

Nairobi said "A second great power comes and he still believed in the one" :deadmanny:

The viewer is left to understand by themselves what the hell that jiberish means. :trash:

He was supposed to be a combo of Morpheus and smith (which made no sense either)

I'm halfway through the movie...Jada Pinkett:deadrose:

Her heel turn was ridiculous, what was the point of bringing back Zion veterans to eventually kill them off again or very close to it?

New Hollywood I guess, bring back surviving characters from old IPs and kill them off or slander them ala Force Awakens....

or why not create a new character? It just seemed like they would pull that bullshyt reboot on a black character

This movie is better the 2nd time watching it. Story makes a lot more sense on the second viewing. Couple thoughts -

The highlights of this movie are Bugs (Jessica Henwick) and The Analyst (Neil Patrick Harris), both were pretty good.

Kind of have mixed feelings about Morpheus v2.0. The actor was fine, but I've never been a big fan of bringing in an actor just to impersonate some other actor. I feel like if they weren't going to bring Laurence Fishburne back then they should've just let Morpheus not be in the movie and have Yaya Abdul-Mateen just play a new character. Have him be Morpheus' son or something instead of a version of Morpheus. I kind of feel the same way about the new Agent Smith. Nothing wrong with the actor but he should've just been a new character.

Still stuck in the matrix when the world moved on to multiverses.

Expect nothing less from some trehs though. How a tech demo better than a feature film.

:dead: This movie is getting no love at all from anywhere.

If its worse than Revolutions I'll probably just wait until it comes on cable. I was looking forward to watching it on IMAX 3D but if it is as bad everyone is saying then I'm not wasting my money.
