Just watched it.. was bored to death.

Never really explains:
Why trinity has powers?
Why is Smith stronger than neo?
How exactly did morpheus die?
What was the point of the merovingian's cameo??
Random civil war amongst the machines over power sources?? Nah

It's like the writers just the decided none of it needed to make sense. Nothing cool or iconic about this film. It was a mess. Neo looks old as fukk. The new Smith and the analyst were kinda cool. But yeah definitely wouldn't watch this again.

Just watched it and I'm not completely sure how I feel about it, this is definitely a movie I feel like I need to rewatch a few times to get everything.

For the most part I liked it, although I feel like they kinda overdid the "power of love" thing and got a bit too meta for their own good. Story was interesting but confusing, like I said I need a rewatch for sure.

Jessica Henwick was probably the highlight of the movie. I also thought "The Analyst" was a pretty good character. Fight scenes were meh.

How exactly did morpheus die?

Well, it's been 60 years since Matrix 3 and the machines destroyed Zion during that time. They implied he died when all of that happened.

But again, it's been 60 years so even if that hadn't happened he probably would've died of old age by this point.

I can dig it, but I can also understand people who aren't fuccking with it or refuse to be more open-minded about it. This movie really exposes, mocks, critique and yet pander THIS SOCIETY and speaks on the evolution of how we became this type of society since the first Matrix. It's literally about US and our polarizing obsessions, our need to be "plugged" in, our cancel culture, the meta-verse, our desire for nostalgia bait and fan service, the LBGTQI agenda and even criticism of this agenda ironically. Being sheep versus free will with one side just want cool action, simple storytelling and the other crazy pretentious philosophy and ideas.

Everything in this movie isn't by accident and by design and very self-aware with it always supposed to reboot and redesign as part of the cycle. Going in that and understanding the ending of Revolutions where Neo submitted to go to the source and reboot the Matrix that I understood this being another cycle of the Matrix, only this time at the end the protagonists technically control it at will.

But being that we ALL ARE stuck in our own Matrix simulation, I can understand a lot of people aren't going to see or like what this movie or message is trying to say. ESPECIALLY after the enjoying with mindless glee SPIDER-MAN NO WAY HOME.

That's cool.

It was still poorly executed, lol.

the cgi in this movie was no worse than the green screen cgi found here. There's no weight to any of the movements. Thor's swings are PS2 quality. The mountains and forest have no color. etc.

So you comparing a movie with 2015 CGI to a movie with 2021 CGI?

:mjlol:

You really didn't think this through smh

The year has nothing to do with it. Benjamin Button came out 13 years ago and still holds up. You don't really wanna have this convo...

This is an easy convo....you trying to deflect from this film having lazy cgi and weak action sequences. You are bringing up 7 year old movies which happen to have a higher replay value for some odd reason....

That does not help Matrix 4:mjlol:

Seems like they are upset that the Matrix fans didn't go out and watch the numerous financial flops they put out after the first 3 Matrix movies.. The spite towards the fanbase is unwarranted because no one asked for this sequel and the only reason it was made was because Keanu's career caught a second wind with the John Wick series. They could have sat back, produced it and put another director in charge, these mtuhafukkas are in their mid .50's still pretending to be corporate rebels, they need to be mad at themselves.. :mjlol:
yeah they need to leave
ruined this whole franchise. it's done
