This shyt was terrible to me. As someone who saw the first matrix in the theater when it came out. I was expecting that wonder. This didn’t have it. This felt like a cash grab with callbacks for nostslgia sake. I liked 2 and 3 better.

am i crazy or were like 4 of the WB movies released on HBO Max this year actually good? and i gotta be honest, i'm counting 2 that i didn't even see but know people seemed to love in Judas and the Black Messiah and King Richard. I enjoyed Suicide Squad a little, and some of the non tentpole movies were solid, but for the most part they had a weak year. could just be influenced by how i watched most, but i prefer to have most movies at home anyway

This guy gives a good in depth spoiler summary on why I thought it was piffery.
A lot of it was Lana Wachowski's pessimistic take on todays modern tech crazy Human Society but a lot of it is on point. Maybe its for fans only but im calling it a classic. Critics be damned.

didnt like it.
Fight scenes were trash and clunky, seems they didn't hire a choreographer or they did an abysmal job. None of the fights were fluid and all of the actors besides Henwick, Moss, and Reeves were stiff and robotic in their movements.
Also back to the dialogue, Henwick had a hard time projecting tone and her crew were muffled AF...Only dude that had clarity in his voice was the Headset breh....shyt they could have made him Link and Zee's grandson...

Lol that’s not my reason why. That’s actually a strength. 3 just doesn’t work for me because it’s so up it’s own ass in philosophy and pontificating. And it feels like a parody of the first movie with the overabundance of CG, the callbacks that don’t even resonate thematically, and how much is truly stuffed into the movie. While reloaded is basically a two hour nonstop action movie, three can’t figure out what it wants to be.
But none of that is on the actors or the leads or the strong black women as you pointed out. They’re all dope. And I love putting them at the front of the line. But the stuff around them doesn’t work.
Second note, I’m glad to see this shyt is divisive on here. Goood dialogue here and there beyond the typical “it’s trash” shyt this place is becoming known for
i kept dragging my feet, then it left, and i honestly forgot it existed until that post b/c i was wracking my brain for good ones. it's on my list now. just did the same thing with King Richard. I'm never in the mood to watch a serious movie, so i always put them off.
