Just got done. It's not as bad as a lot of folk make it out to be, but it was a huge letdown.

Pros: NPH was good as the new "architect".
Goff held his own as well.
The machine allies/civil war thing was probably the best idea in the movie.
I liked the inclusion of all the Sense 8 actors. That show was dope.

Cons: The self references were funny the first few times. Got old fast.
The side characters were completely forgettable.
The plot dragged after the 1st half.
Bad fight scenes.
Bad soundtrack.
No sense of risk. Not a single protagonist died, not even a machine.

I do think the clips from the old movies everytime there was a reference is one of the dumbest ideas they had.

They should have had more respect for themselves. The first Matrix was a classic and most movie goers have seen it enough times where you don't need to highlight the references. Those are going to worse with each time you re-watch ressurections, if you'd ever want to do that

JADA WAS GREAT IN THIS.
SHE HAD THAT OLD LADY ROLE DOWN.

MORPHEUS WAS TRASH.

Yo it wouldn’t stop , it was killing me.

it reminded me of clip shows you would see on sitcoms. Basically a clip show is an episode that consists of old scenes from previous episodes. They’re like recap shows.

Each movie should be its own separate entity. They focused so much on the first with those clips that it was disgusting.

I'm invested in Matrix lore and this movie is straight trash. This shyt is on the level like one of those fan fiction films on YouTube.

If anything this movie is a regression, the intelligence, action, philosophic nuances, all gone from this rendition. Reloaded and Revolutions didn't feel completely disconnected from part 1 and kept most of those attributes....

This is like a fan-film with some A-lister legends....

Looked like it belong on tv but it was aight. I liked how they were trying to get neo back to how he use to be. I knew they were suppressing Neo in the matrix and updating it. Reason why we wasn’t bodying all those police (bots) and the crew were straight up new to it. Also the matrix is the same one from movie 3 (sunlight and not the green tint it is known for) the action could have been better but I like how they changed the approach by using old clips to bring us back. Say better than goofy ass Star Wars.

It was better than star wars but I've never been a big fan of the franchise. So I don't have anything to be disappointed about. This movie felt like hipster fan fiction but it wasn't annoying and preachy. I like the new world they created, literally based on the third movie that everybody hated but I don't know how much I'd want to come back it 8/10

Yes, movie was easily one of the better sequels to be put out...



I feel the same way, while the sequels were on no way on the first matrix level all 3 movies afterwards definitely expanded and opened up the matrix lore



Are you really harping on the CGI? While I agree with assessment, the CGI in this movie no way took away from the story, reloaded and revolutions had scenes with way worse CGI, albeit scenes with better CGI as well

The CGI and CGI design is terrible. They had robots with butterfly wings smh. Is this a kids film?
