I liked the movie

If this film had the same story and a better director/wasn't a MCU film and had more time to sit

Any thoughts of this being tied to mutants is done.


I don’t even think they know how to introduce mutants yet. They chose F4 first because it’s easier. They would have to start when they were young a la First Class, have an alternate universe where mutants exist use the snap as an excuse.

No it's not.

There are celestials who's jobs are to specifically engineer and seed life. Creation of Eternals (angels) and deviants (demons) doesn't account for what was done with the native life forms on the planet to aid their evoltion. Not to mention the implication that Eternals can breed with other species that could further explain demigods/mutates like Hulk.

The X-men that we know will be introduced via the multiverse. Mutants in the sacred time-line could easily have existed on the fringe in small numbers (the same way that Vampires do now), which will see a rapid increase because of CMBR. There's all kinds of angles you could take from there but that's the springboard.

I don't know why ppl disliked it so much. I guess it's cause they didn't have @humminbird to tell them when to fastforward past the gay stuff.

Finally watched it, and thought it was better than what I expected it to be. Nice visuals too.
Skipped that whole two daddy and kiss nonsense too

@ Sprite getting hit in the back of the head with that rock....I hit rewind on that a couple of times

Eternals Is a Superhero Primer on Gnosticism

But for real, a Marvel movie fueled by ideas was so refreshing? When was the last time that even happened? Underneath all the action and fantastic acting, Black Panther was at heart a conversation between T’Chaka, T’Challa, Nakia, and Eric Killmonger. The intent was to send us out the door debating. If you want to, you can read Netflix’s Daredevil as a conversation about morality and religious faith. The Iron Man trilogy is maybe, somewhat, a conversation about the military industrial complex. Eternals is basically “Let’s Attack and Dethrone God: The Movie,” with a lot of fraught debate about whether that’s the correct thing to do, who gets to decide (deicide?), what the consequences will be, whether humanity is worth those consequences, etc. etc.
