Being Year 1 doesn't stop it from being another damn origin movie. The one thing Snyder got right is jumping straight into the mythos.
I believe year one is told from Gordon’s perspective as a new cop in a corrupt city as reports of the Batman start popping up around. It doesn’t have much of the whole parents being murdered storyline we all know too well.
Anyway, they should just recast Armie Hammer already. The guy has the right age, build, and presence to do this role for the next 15-20 years.
If they do year one, they might as well connect it to the Joaquin Phoenix joker. Batman and joker don’t have to be the same age.

He did a marvel movie though, that makes it weird even though I know others did more than one superhero role. Batman is a different standard though.
