TV ain’t a downgrade in this age. Many of these shows nowadays have better writing than the theatrical films that are out and more leeway when it comes to fleshing out storylines. A-listers are working in the television realm now and the budgets are much higher than before.
YOURE OVERTHINKING IT.
IM NOT KNOCKING TV IN GENERAL.

THERES BEEN TONS OF GREAT SHOWS.

THERE ARE CERTAIN PROPERTIES
THAT DONT BELONG ON TV
AND BATMAN IS ONE OF THEM.

WE DONT EVER HAVE TO SEE
ROBIN ON THE BIG SCREEN AGAIN
AND I WAS A HUGE ROBIN FAN
GROWING UP.

THAT CHARACTER WOULD FIT
THE MCU MORE THAN
BATMAN.

This ridiculous take is why I'm not a huge fan of the "grounded" take on Batman. Robin has been a part of Batman lore since a year after Batman was created. Creating a version of Batman where Robin can't exist takes away a major part of who Batman is. You can start without him but you have to have space for him to come in somehow. Batman cares about kids who have been through what he has, that is why he takes in Robin.

That's also a reason it doesn't make sense for Batman to roast Riddler in the asylum. Riddler lost his parents, had a rough life because of it and sought out his own form of justice. Batman should be somewhat understanding of that, even if he disagreed with his methods.

A more understanding Batman would have allowed the movie to end at its natural conclusion, with the 2 of them meeting. You could have Batman realize that they are the same and that he was having the wrong type of inspiration without the stadium scene that most agree doesn't work and came out of nowhere.

We're not getting a Robin because it doesn't correspond with the grounded cliche approach these unoriginal film makers are going for.
Can't have any colors just muted dark filters.

We'll get two more movies in the same vein, a grounded villian and a mob boss who according to the director will be a bigger threat then the previous one and more trash fight choreography.
Rinse and repeat

Finally got to see this today, and I was pretty impressed. :ehh:

Not quite ready to put it over the Dark Knight, since Riddler (while good) wasn't on Joker's level, but still a very good flick.

The most refreshing and interesting thing for me was the lack of a "Bruce Wayne" persona. He was basically Batman the whole time in this movie, Bruce was basically just Batman when he wanted to be incognito.

Reeves never said sh-t about placing limitations on any upcoming stories. Batman has always had "grounded" story arcs and that's what The Riddler was.. a lot of the comic stories over the years been grounded..

But then they hit you with something else on another arc. Personally... who cares? As long as the story is good... i couldn't care less if there's "fantastical" elements.. yall sound some hoes in here... Go watch Harry Potter fakkit
