Bro dont play dumb like mcfly. This started with me saying “why are we getting Catwoman again in another solo batman flick instead of Robin.” ?Nobody is checking for Catwoman, and she isnt more popular or recognizable than Robin.

The goofy then says “Catwoman is one of the most popular comic book characters in history” which is not true. Recognizable ≠ popularity.

If you are one of the most popular comic book characters ever you dont have a solo movie that losses 20mil in the box office.

His statement was that they made $100 million more than their budget. So that would be considered profitable, even if they were disappointing.

If you told any millionaire, invest 100 million and you’ll get 200mil back, they’d do that deal everyday. You would figure what i posted was simple math/business 101.

Nah. He was skewing profit to make his flawed argument.

The general rule was it needed to make 2.5x its budget worldwide to be considered profitable. Neither Hulks or Catwoman did. And neither had it’s domestic total hit its budget.

He’s just obscuring that fact both flopped. Just one flopped harder.



Which again is a flawed argument in general because stuff like Clifford the Big Red Dog or Percy Jackson sells millions of books like Harry Potter but only one franchise became profitable in relation to its source popularity.
